Thank you for the help... |
It's over! I'm going to come right
out and say that for the first time in years, I feel the two finalists
deserved to be there, and both played a great game. And I'm
completely aware that by saying that, I've just angered about 50% of our readers. If you're part of the anti-Donato faction, here are two
things to consider, 1.) It's just a silly TV show. and 2.)
With the record high ratings CBS enjoyed this summer, you can be sure
there will be a BB9, and chances are you'll get another Maggie / Ivette finale
next year.
This was Jem's third season covering the feeds with "Team Morty," a group of volunteer
feed-watchers and myself. After eight season you'd think I'd have all
the technical bugs worked out, but our audience keeps expanding above our capacity.
I really feel that this web site has the
best group of volunteer writers and support people on the internet. Let
me start my thanks with Jem. Jem got up every day and wrote up all
the household's AM activity. No matter what time of the day or night I
could IM (instant message) her and she'd be there.
Thanks to all the people that sent
donations, your generosity was over whelming this year.
I'd like to thank Angelo_Joe for for doing
spelling and grammar for the first 60 days, until personal obligations
required his time. I want it made clear that Joe, can
write grammatically correct, but we had his controls set at
"casual," more conversational than perfect. Also,
Jem and I would write and re-write stuff as fast as we could to get it posted,
and sometimes Joe wouldn't send the corrections until four hours later, so we
would post the better version, but you wouldn't know it because you already
read the sloppy one. So thanks for all those corrections, Joe.
I don't know how many seasons CeCiMom has
been moderating our forums, but I know things don't work without her.
This was an especially tense season, everyone had such strong opinions,
and took everything so seriously. The fightin' fumin' and flamin'
reached new lows. Not everyone agreed with our methods, but I
think CeCiMom did a great job of maintaining order. So thanks again
CeCiMom. This year we had something new, the Big
Brother 8 Video Podcast. I admit that I was a bit leery of this idea
when DreamAngel and Fuskie, suggested it. Last year Fuskie did the
pop-up alerts in BB re-loader, and he's the same guy that entertains our
West coast readers with a live play-by-play in our chat room, so I know I can
always trust Fuskie to do quality work. Great Job, and thanks to
both of you.
I don't spend much time in our chat room,
but when I do go on there, I'm glad Dade runs those rooms. Just
like the problems CeCiMom faced in our forums, with fans getting carried away,
Dade stuck it out, every night, not just putting up with rude people,
but making friends, keeping order and solving all those problems before they
start. Dade is also our "Spoiler Scout" and writes a
large part of the TV calendar that you see at the bottom of the forum page,
and made the daily list of page contributors.
This was BuxomBlonde's first season running
the BB Prediction Challenge. My thanks to BuxomBlonde and we look
forward to her joining us next year and maybe we can talk her into other
reality TV prediction challenges.
I'd like to thank everyone for capturing
videos, posting on YouTube, and logging the links in our forums. I'd
also like to thank Smirnoff for doing clips of the TV show.
Smirnoff always comes through when we need her. I think
eyeluvhowie deserves special mention, she provided us with a lot of great
clips.
I'd like to thank Dumblonde for writing in
our blog project so we could take a couple days off. I'd like to thank
JEDI for filling in one day when our schedule just got too hectic.
I want to thank all our Forum
Hosts/Moderators, Angelo Joe, DreamAngel, Catniptoy,
Fuskie, JEDI, kayo, and TV_Paige (Paige's computer went MIA this summer
and we missed all the obits and news she posts for us, along with the awesome TV
Talk Show Listings). I'd like to thank Brekkie Boy and hanklee for
keeping up with the BB houses outside the US. Thanks to Yana for her
support and we're looking forward to more interviews with the reality stars.
Now to the people that made this work.

“Reality Remix’s” Kennedy Returns to Host Reality TV’s Biggest Night
Honoring Reality’s Best Personalities.
Fox Reality Channel, the only all reality, all the time network, brings back
the only awards show honoring reality television and celebrating all of its
outrageous moments (and personalities) that kept America glued to their
television sets this year. This year’s unique categories include Favorite
Showmance, Favorite Fight, Favorite Tears, Favorite Winner, Favorite Loser,
Favorite Potty mouth, Favorite Altered State, The Baddest Bitch and more. Of
course, no reality awards show would be complete without viewer
participation, so Fox Reality Channel brings back the “Golden Realitini"
honoring the “Most Memorable Reality Performer,” as voted for by fans at
foxreality.com.

Las Vegan nervous about returning home after stay in 'Big Brother' house
By John Przybys
Amber Siyavus, who appeared on “Big Brother 8” admits she’s a crier and
still seems a little gun-shy, talking about her just-ended, sometimes
tumultuous stint on "Big Brother 8." "This isn't going to be
edited, right?" she asked last week at the end of a telephone interview
from Los Angeles.
Siyavus' concern with editing is understandable: She, like, every other
reality show veteran, has learned firsthand how real life can be sliced and
diced to create televised drama.

Reality Star Back Home in Haysville

'Big Brother' finalists talk about the experience
By RICHARD CHANG
The Orange County Register
Dick Donato, who won the show's eighth season, and daughter Daniele both say
they are happy with the outcome. One day after coming in second to her
father on the finale of CBS's "Big Brother 8," Daniele Donato was
in a terrific mood.
The Huntington Beach waitress missed the $500,000 grand prize on the reality
series, but came away with $50,000 – and a reconciled relationship with
her father Dick, with whom she hadn't spoken for about two years. "I
wish I could say everyone was a sucker and we actually got along the whole
time," Donato, 21, said Wednesday. "But everything you saw was
true. We didn't talk, and now we do."

hand in the results or in the magic ping pong ball? What does she have to say

Dick and Daniele on The Early Show
The Greater of Two Evils
In the ''Big Brother'' season finale, the jury chooses Dick over his
coconspirator Daniele in an anticlimactic end to a good season.
By Lynette Rice
Given Daniele's infuriating personality, I kinda got a perverse pleasure in
seeing her father win season 8 of Big Brother by a 5-2 vote — considering
that I didn't want to see either of them win at all. I, like so many of you,
considered boycotting the finale because I knew it would be terribly
anticlimactic, much like the year Rob and Amber made it to the final two on
Survivor. And truth be told, I started checking out of BB days ago — first
because the Emmys were upon us and I had to focus my energy on wishing for a
Two and a Half Men upset in the Best Comedy category and then because I
needed to find my happy place since a new season of McDreamy was only days
away! But I had to experience this final hour, if only to enjoy the payoff of
seeing the houseguests' reaction to Eric being America's player.

How did we do? This year it took four web
servers to handle all the traffic generated by our coverage of
Big Brother 8. Even with more resources dedicated to Big
Brother, than ever before, we had several outages caused by
your traffic. We never charge for access, and I only ask
after the season over for donations. I start each season
with my fingers crossed, hoping the web site, forums, chat rooms,
and media servers won't crash, and that our ISPs will be
able to handle the load. If you think we did a decent job
this year, please consider donating a couple bucks to cover
our expenses. Click Here for
