TV One’s All-New Original Film “Under the Influence” Starring Denyce Brooks, BJ Britt, and Jared Wofford to Premiere on Sunday, February 5 @ 7PM/6C [VIDEO]

TV One’s original film UNDER THE INFLUENCE, directed by Courtney Miller (“Games People Play“, “Saints & Sinners“, and “Twisted House Sitter“), will premiere on, Sunday, February 5 @ 7/6C. Denyce Brooks (“Chicago PD“, “Hot Shot: Anthrax” – NatGeo/Disney+, “A Luv’s Tale” – BET+) will star as Denae Herndon. Joining Brooks is BJ Brit (“Being Mary Jane“, “Agents of the SHIELD“) who is cast as Seth Blackman. Jared Wofford (“The Winchesters” – CW, “Rap Sh!t“, “Saints and Sinners“) rounds out the cast as Robert.

The film title, UNDER THE INFLUENCE stems from the colloquial term “13th step”. This term applies when a 12-step old-timer hits on a newcomer with less than a year of sobriety. It can be for a variety of reasons: emotional, financial, or physical. But either way, it’s someone in a position of power trying totake advantage of someone weaker. In this film, a woman’s life is thrown into a dangerous tailspin after ending an affair with the dangerous lover she met in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
