This July, get ready for brand-new content from award-winning creators, reimagined classics that fans will fall in love with all over again, and more! Here’s some of the diverse content coming to HBO Max this month that we know fans will enjoy.

Meet the next generation of pretty little liars in “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” (7/28). Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in present day, a disparate group of teen girls find themselves tormented by an unknown enemy and are forced to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago…as well as their own.

Award-winning creator Issa Rae debuts a new comedy series “Rap Sh!t” (7/21) following the success of her groundbreaking comedy series “Insecure.” “Rap Sh!t” follows two estranged best friends in Miami, Florida, as they decide to start a rap group.

Do nice guys finish last? This age-old question is put to the test in “FBOY Island” (7/14), returning to the platform for its second season with a whole new crop of fboys and nice guys, and host Nikki Glaser.

In “Last Night in Soho” (7/1), starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomasin McKenzie, and Matt Smith, an aspiring fashion designer is mysteriously transported to the 1960s where she meets a wannabe singer. She soon finds out that all the glamour is not at all what it appears to be, and the dreams of her past begin to turn into something darker.

Add a whole new meaning to “suns out, buns out” this summer with the “Bob’s Burgers Movie” (7/12). A ruptured water main creates an enormous sinkhole right in front of Bob’s Burgers, blocking the entrance indefinitely and ruining the Belchers’ plans for a successful summer. While Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family’s restaurant. As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope as they try to get back behind the counter.

Comedian and actress Nikki Glaser (host and executive producer of Max Original “FBOY Island“) debuts her first hour-long HBO comedy special this July.

July also offers something fun for kids, comedy fans, and more!

“The Rehearsal” (7/15), starring Nathan Fielder explores the lengths one man will go to reduce the uncertainties of everyday life. Fielder allows ordinary people to prepare for life’s biggest moments by “rehearsing” them in carefully crafted simulations of his own design. When a single misstep could shatter your entire world, why leave life to chance?

Filmed entirely inside the world of VR, the vérité documentary “We Met in Virtual Reality” (7/27) captures the excitement and surprising intimacy of a burgeoning cultural movement, demonstrating the power of online connection in an isolated world.

Grab those hard hats and fasten that tool belt, a Looney Builders construction crew is heading to town! For little ones, Cartoonito on HBO Max is debuting “Bugs Bunny Builders” (7/26), the first-ever educational Looney Tunes show and first Looney Tunes preschool show in over 20 years. Bugs and Lola are managers of the Looney Builders construction crew comprised of Daffy, Porky, Tweety, and more familiar faces. Together, the team helps their fellow citizens of Looneyburg with zany building projects.

This Day In History

🎂Happy Birthday to Mel Brooks

Mel Brooks as Comicus in the movie, History of the World Part 1
Mel Brooks was born Melvin Kaminsky on June 28, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York City, and is an actor, comedian writer, and filmmaker. With a career spanning over seven decades, he is known as a creator of broad farces and parodies widely considered to be among the best film comedies ever made. Brooks was a small, sickly boy who often was bullied and teased by his classmates because of his size. He grew up in tenement housing. At age nine, he went to a Broadway show with his uncle Joe and saw Anything Goes with William Gaxton, Ethel Merman, and Victor Moore at the Alvin Theater. After the show, he told his uncle that he was not going to work in the garment district like everyone else but was absolutely going into show business. He began his career as a comic and writer for Sid Caesar's variety show Your Show of Shows (1950–1954) alongside Woody Allen, Neil Simon, and Larry Gelbart. With Carl Reiner, he created the comic character The 2000 Year Old Man. He wrote, with Buck Henry, the hit television comedy series Get Smart (1965–1970). In middle age, Brooks became one of the most successful film directors of the 1970s, with many of his films being among the top 10 moneymakers of the year they were released. His best-known films include The Producers (1967), The Twelve Chairs (1970), Blazing Saddles (1974), Young Frankenstein (1974), Silent Movie (1976), High Anxiety (1977), History of the World, Part I (1981), Spaceballs (1987), and Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993). A musical adaptation of his first film, The Producers, ran on Broadway from 2001 to 2007 and was remade into a musical film in 2005. In 2001, having previously won an Emmy, a Grammy and an Oscar, he joined a small list of EGOT winners with his Tony Award wins for The Producers. He received a Kennedy Center Honor in 2009, a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2010, the 41st AFI Life Achievement Award in June 2013, a British Film Institute Fellowship in March 2015, and a National Medal of Arts in September 2016, and a BAFTA Fellowship in February 2017. Three of his films ranked in the American Film Institute's list of the top 100 comedy films of the past 100 years (1900–2000), all of which ranked in the top 15 of the list: Blazing Saddles at number 6, The Producers at number 11, and Young Frankenstein at number 13. Brooks was married to actress Anne Bancroft from 1964 until her death in 2005. In 2021, Mel Brooks published a memoir, All About Me! . -Read More-
