BAFTA Award-Winner Emily Watson Stars in the New AMC+ Original Series “Too Close”

Starring BAFTA Award-winning actress Emily Watson (Chernobyl, Little Women), the AMC+ Original Series, Too Close, premieres as a full series binge on Thursday, May 20.

The three-part psychological thriller centers around forensic psychiatrist Dr. Emma Robertson (Watson), who must assess criminal suspect Connie Mortensen (Denise Gough) – only to fall victim to Connie’s insightful, yet manipulative nature.

Recently premiering in the UK to universal acclaim, the three-part psychological thriller centers around forensic psychiatrist Dr. Emma Robertson (Watson), who must assess criminal suspect Connie Mortensen (Denise Gough, The Fall, Colette) – only to fall victim to Connie’s insightful, yet manipulative nature. Connie has a searing insight into Emma’s deepest insecurities and starts to brutally exploit them. Ultimately, their sessions are meant to uncover what happened on the night when Connie’s despicable crime occurred. To do that, Emma must uncover the truth about Connie’s complex relationship with her beautiful best friend, Ness (Thalissa Teixeira, Two Weeks to Live, Trigonometry), which seemingly triggered Connie’s psychological descent.

Too Close, based on the novel of the same title written by pseudonym Natalie Daniels, is written by Clara Salaman (EastEnders) and directed by Susan Tully (Line of Duty). Letitia Knight (The Missing) serves as producer. Ruth Kenley-Letts (Mrs. Wilson), Kate Crow (Taboo), Jenny Van Der Lande (Mrs. Wilson), Clara Salaman, Emily Watson, and Neil Blair (Fantastic Beasts film series) serve as executive producers.
