The contestants are tested in competitions at real-world job sites with tasks that test their strength, endurance, life skills and mental toughness. One contestant will be out of contention for the individual championship at the end of each episode; however, contestants are not eliminated and have the opportunity to win additional prizes during team competitions throughout the season. At the end of the season, one contestant will be crowned as the Tough as Nails champion and win the grand prize of $200,000 and a Ford Super Duty truck.
