His innovative time-saving devices are entertaining the infant and have freed up time prompting Ogden to return to her women\u2019s clinic. But domestic calm and bliss is far from the reality for Murdoch\u2019s associates. Constable George Crabtree (<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Jonny Harris<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">) has left his betrothed, Effie Newsome (<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Clare McConnell<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">), at the altar after a prophecy by his aunt foretells marrying her would sign her death certificate. Brokenhearted, he endures the confoundment of Murdoch and Ogden and the wrath of Inspector Thomas Brackenreid (<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Thomas Craig<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">). Constable Henry Higgins-Newsome (<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lachlan Murdoch<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">) presumes he got cold feet and used the curse as an excuse. After her menacing father Maurice Majors (<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Roger Cross<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">), appeared to extort her and her husband, as well as threaten Brackenreid for a past misdeed, he has apparently died. But has he? When a coffin shipped to New York arrives full of dirt and a corpse mysteriously rises from a pauper\u2019s grave killing two men, Murdoch wonders how desperate and depraved Hart might be. Meanwhile, Detective Llewelyn Watts (<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Daniel Maslany<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">) has gone missing from work and Toronto, presumably with his paramour Jack the butcher (<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Jesse Lavercombe<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">) and his infant Samuel. Brackenreid tracks him down to New York to warn the men that their domestic situation is in jeopardy because an odious private investigator has been hired by the toddler\u2019s grandparents. But while there, Brackenreid lets his defenses down and suddenly finds that not only is Watts\u2019 future in peril, so too is his own.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Guest stars this season include <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Siobhan McSweeney<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, best known as the acerbic nun on the Netflix hit <\/span><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Derry Girls<\/span><\/i><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, appearing as Crabtree\u2019s clairvoyant Auntie Oleander, <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Sean Cullen<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> as Rudyard Kipling, Van Helsing\u2019s <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Christopher Heyerdahl<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> as a stoic Mennonite elder, and the return of fan favorites <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Peter Stebbings<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> as inventive entrepreneur James Pendrick and <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Peter Keleghan<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> as intrepid, and occasionally annoying, spy Terrence Myers.
