In addition to season six of &#8220;<em>The Handmaid&#8217;s Tale<\/em>,&#8221; Bruce Miller (creator, showrunner, and executive producer) is actively developing &#8220;<strong><em>The Testaments,<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; a follow-up to &#8220;<em>The Handmaid&#8217;s Tale<\/em>,&#8221; which picks up years later.<\/p>\n<p>Adapted from the classic novel by <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3xczdHn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Margaret Atwood<\/a>, &#8220;<em>The Handmaid&#8217;s Tale<\/em>&#8221; remains increasingly relevant nearly 40 years after its initial publication. In 2017, Hulu made history as the first streaming service to win a Primetime Emmy\u00ae Award in the Best Series category when the program took home the award for Outstanding Drama Series. The widowed Serena attempts to raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead&#8217;s influence creeps into Canada. Commander Lawrence works with Nick and Aunt Lydia as he tries to reform Gilead and rise in power.
