Continuing the origin story of Cuban American and future leader Elena Ca\u00f1ero-Reed as she enters the seventh grade and recounted through excerpts from 13-year-old Elena&#8217;s diary, this coming-of-age series follows Elena through the ups and downs of middle school which sets her on the path to becoming the President of the United States.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KJYkB-tAqXI?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Created by showrunner Ilana Pe\u00f1a (&#8220;<em>Crazy Ex-Girlfriend<\/em>&#8220;) and loosely inspired by Pe\u00f1a&#8217;s own adolescence, the series has been lauded for its authentic portrayal of a Latinx tween and her friends and family.
