Disney Channel has opted against a fourth season of sitcom “Girl Meets World.” “Girl Meets World” followed the daughter (Rowan Blanchard) of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga Matthews (Danielle Fishel) (from the original cast of Boy Meets World”) in New York City and her best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) as they navigated the challenges of life and school. August Maturo, Peyton Meyer and Corey Fogelmanis also starred.
E!News repported the Disney Channel issued a statement saying, “We are proud that for over 70 episodes, Michael Jacobs, April Kelly and the talented creative team, cast and crew entertained viewers with an authentic and heartfelt look at navigating adolescence.”
Rowan Blanchard is taking the cancelation hard, and posted the following statement on Instagram:
The series finale of “Girl Meets World” airs on Friday, January 20.
