Acorn TV, AMC Networks’ popular streamer showcasing the best in brilliant mysteries and suspense-driven dramas, today debuted a sneak peek at the opening minutes of the Murder Before Evensong premiere episode which will stream exclusively on Acorn TV in the U.S. and Canada on Monday, September 29. New images of the highly anticipated series, which stars Matthew Lewis (Harry Potter, All Creatures Great and Small), were also released.
Murder Before Evensong follows Canon Daniel Clement (Lewis), the Rector of Champton, as he finds himself unexpectedly entangled in a murder case when a dead body turns up at the back of the church. Based on the bestselling books, the Canon Clement Mysteries, by British author The Reverend Richard Coles, the six-episode series is set in 1980s London.
The series also stars Amanda Redman, Amit Shah, Adam James, Meghan Treadway, Alexander Delamain, Marion Bailey, Amanda Hadingue, Tamzin Outhwaite, Francis Magee, and Nina Toussaint-White.
Murder Before Evensong is part of An Autumn To Die For, Acorn TV’s season-long showcase of the best of the platform’s character-driven series featuring an extensive array of great programming including premieres of all-new series and films starring Jane Seymour, Elle Fanning, Saoirse Ronan, Judi Dench, Richard Flood, and more. An Autumn To Die For will run from September 22 to November 27 and debut a new mystery every Monday and a new original crime drama every week.
