Today, ABC News announced “Search for the Truth: The Amanda Knox Story,” airing Friday, August 22 (8:00-9:00PM EDT), on ABC and streaming next day on Disney+ and Hulu. The timely special features an exclusive primetime interview with Amanda Knox, who discusses the years-long battle to prove her innocence after being wrongfully convicted of her roommate’s 2007 murder. Knox speaks candidly about the profound toll of her wrongful conviction, the global media frenzy that shaped the public’s perception of her, and the lingering impact of misinformation and speculation that have followed her ever since. The one-hour special goes beyond the headlines and offers an unfiltered look at a very different Amanda in the aftermath.
Knox also talks about her involvement as an executive producer in Hulu’s upcoming limited series inspired by her story, “The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox,” premiering Wednesday, August 20. Creator, executive producer, and showrunner of the Hulu series K.J. Steinberg, executive producers Monica Lewinsky and Warren Littlefield, and Grace Van Patten, who plays Amanda, are also interviewed in the ABC primetime special.
“Search for the Truth: The Amanda Knox Story” is produced by ABC News Studios. David Sloan is senior executive producer. Muriel Pearson is executive producer, and Jake Lefferman is supervising producer.
