Prime Video has released the action-packed trailer starring Keeley Hawes (Scoop, Miss Austen) and Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Bates Motel) in its latest UK Acquisition series, The Assassin. Created by writing duo Harry & Jack Williams, The Assassin launches on Prime Video on Friday, 25 July in the UK & Ireland. The six-part series is produced by award-winning production company Two Brothers Pictures (The Tourist, Boat Story, Fleabag) in association with ZDF who is the German co-production partner, All3Media International, and Stan in Australia.
The trailer sees retired assassin Julie (Keeley Hawes) and her estranged son Edward (Freddie Highmore) amidst high-stakes drama and thrilling action as they are forced to flee an idyllic Greek island when Julie’s dangerous past catches up with her. With questions around Edward’s paternity and Julie’s past life as a hitwoman, the pair go on the run across Europe, working together in a fight for survival.
Along the way, their dysfunctional relationship is tested to its limits. They uncover a dark conspiracy they believe to be their only threat, but a greater danger emerges that could destroy their relationship entirely. In a race against time, Julie fights to save Edward and salvage their relationship as past and present collide in a showdown across the globe…
