Max Original Documentary Series “Most Wanted: Teen Hacker” Debuts This September [VIDEO]

The Max Original four-part documentary series MOST WANTED: TEEN HACKER, the unbelievable true story of a boy once named by the FBI as one of the most dangerous hackers in the world, debuts this September on HBO Max. New episodes will debut weekly on Fridays throughout September across Europe and the U.S.

Directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Sami Kieksi and co-written with Joni Soila, the series follows the illegal exploits of Finnish hacker Julius Kivimäki, known as Aleksanteri Kivimäki, who rose to infamy after forcing a U.S. passenger plane to make an emergency landing, shutting down PlayStation globally, and orchestrating several dangerous SWAT attacks – including one targeting the family of an FBI agent.

The series includes compelling interviews with FBI agents, SWAT team members, cybersecurity experts, Kivimäki’s victims, internationally recognized hackers, and Kivimäki himself, who is currently serving a prison sentence.

Sami Kieksi, an award-winning Finnish producer, director, screenwriter, and documentary filmmaker. He is best known for his powerful and socially conscious documentaries, often focusing on people living on the margins of society. His work has been praised for its psychological depth and human-centered approach to difficult and stigmatized topics.

Joni Soila is a seasoned Finnish journalist, documentary creator, and producer, known for shaping some of Finland’s most-watched and talked-about docuseries and factual entertainment. With a sharp eye for compelling characters and cultural phenomena, Soila has been the driving force behind numerous acclaimed productions. He is behind the concepts and production of several major series for all of Finland’s leading TV channels and streaming platforms.
