The Season Four Finale Debuts May 29 On Max

Max has renewed the multi-Emmy®-winning comedy series HACKS for a fifth season ahead of the season four finale, debuting this Thursday, May 29 at 6:00PM PT/9:00PM ET. Over the course of its run, the series has garnered 48 Emmy® nominations, including a season three win for Outstanding Comedy Series.

HACKS has been a top five series on Max since its season four debut in the U.S. and a top 10 series globally. Season four has been pacing as the series’ best season yet and has achieved both domestic and global week-over-week growth every week so far this season.

Salon writes that season four is “TV’s best comedy.” RogerEbert.com agrees it’s “still the best comedy on television,” while Chicago Tribune calls it the “strongest season yet.” The Washington Post praises the “sublime fourth season” which “proves beyond any doubt that HACKS is a series with legs.” The Boston Globe commends Jean Smart’s “hall of fame-level work as Deborah,” and Gold Derby effuses, “this is [Hannah Einbinder’s] best season,” with Collider adding “Einbinder simply gets better and more confident every season.” Salon notes Paul W. Downs “received his first Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Jimmy in 2024, and his scene partnership with [Megan] Stalter should earn him another.” NPR calls Downs and Stalter “excellent.”

Sarah Aubrey, Head of Max Original Programming,

“Yes! More! We congratulate HACKS’ singularly talented cast and crew and our great partners at Universal Television.”

Erin Underhill, President of Universal Television,

“Like Deborah Vance herself, HACKS only gets bolder, sharper, and more iconic with time. We’re beyond thrilled to keep the laughter rolling with Jen, Paul, Lucia, our extraordinary cast and crew, and our partners at Max.”
