Shudder today announced a multiple project pickup deal with modern-day horror icons and drag superstars The Boulet Brothers. Dubbed “divinely grotesque” by Entertainment Weekly, Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet’s Emmy®-nominated reality competition series, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, has been renewed for a seventh season, and the show’s all-star spinoff format, The Boulet Brothers Dragula: Titans, has been renewed for season two. Shudder has also picked up an all-new holiday special, The Boulet Brothers’ Holiday of Horrors, featuring co-host David Dastmalchian. Production began this week on season two of Titans, which will be the first to premiere later this year on Shudder and AMC+.
The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula is an edge-of-your-seat reality show and competition that brings together extreme drag artists from around the world to compete in jaw-dropping challenges including costume design and creation, makeup and special effects, live performance, and craftsmanship. In The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Titans, the best competitors from previous seasons come back to life to compete on the Dragula mainstage vying for the title of the world’s next Drag Supermonster.
Fans will step into a sinister sleigh ride of yuletide terror with The Boulet Brothers‘ Holiday of Horrors, as the Boulet’s – joined by their devilish co-host and star of Shudder’s Late Night with the Devil, David Dastmalchian – unveil a chilling anthology of original holiday horror tales.
“We’re positively enthralled to extend our unholy alliance with Shudder and AMC+ through this multi-season pact,” said The Boulet Brothers. “It ensures the underworld stays wide open for many years to come – welcoming fresh souls, darker tales, and even more monstrous mayhem. We’re especially excited to be writing and directing the Holiday of Horrors anthology special alongside some of our dearest friends and fresh new blood of the horror genre. Together, we’re summoning something truly diabolical – and this is only the beginning of the nightmares to come.”
“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with The Boulet Brothers, who bring their iconic and passionate flare to every project they’ve ever touched and continue to push boundaries in the reality competition space,” said Courtney Thomasma, EVP of Linear and Streaming Products for AMC Networks “We can’t wait to see where Drac and Swan’s vision takes the audience next.”
The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula has become must-watch television for horror, drag, and reality fans alike. Showcasing some of the finest artists in the world, the series has cultivated a devoted and continually growing fan base on Shudder and AMC+. Following the show’s first two Emmy nominations, the supersized season “666” was a runaway hit with audiences. The season ranked among Shudder’s most-watched titles and was the #1 top acquisition driving series of last year -with Collider noting, “there’s still never been a project quite like Dragula” and Indiewire saying, “the Boulet Brothers are not fucking around.” The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Titans‘ 2022 premiere episode ranks among the most-streamed episodes of any Dragula episode across AMC+ and Shudder combined.
The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula and The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Titans are executive produced and directed by Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet. David Sigurani also serves as Executive Producer of both series.
This month also marks Shudder’s 10-year anniversary, as it celebrates a decade of the best in horror. Shudder 10 will feature the service’s most terrifyingly ambitious slate to date, along with special fan events, a nationwide screening series, customed merchandise and more. The milestone follows a successful 2024 for Shudder as the streamer claimed six of the year’s top 10 titles on Rotten Tomatoes 2024 Horror list with LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL landing in the #1 spot.
