Today SHOWTIME® announced that Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (The Lincoln Lawyer), Kadia Saraf (Law & Order: SVU & The Better Sister), Dominic Fumusa (NURSE JACKIE) and Emilia Suárez (Up Here) will join the cast of the SHOWTIME® original drama series DEXTER: RESURRECTION, as series regulars, starring SAG and Golden Globe winner Michael C. Mwine will play the role of “Blessing Kamara,” a rideshare driver who radiates unwavering optimism and a man devoted to his family and community. Saraf will play Detective “Claudette Wallace,” a razor-sharp investigator known for her methodical precision and unrelenting focus. Fumusa will play Detective “Melvin Oliva,” Claudette Wallace’s partner at NYPD who is the only one who understands his quirky partner. Suárez will play “Elsa Rivera,” Harrison Morgan’s vibrant and determined friend and co-worker at the Empire Hotel.
Production for DEXTER: RESURRECTION kicked off in January 2025 in New York and the series is set to launch in summer of 2025 on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.
Previously announced cast included: David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan, Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, Uma Thurman as Charley, and Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater.
Most recently, DEXTER®: ORIGINAL SIN, a prequel series that follows Dexter (played by Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to serial killer, debuted in December of last year and delivered the most streamed SHOWTIME® premiere in history with more than 2.1M global cross-platform viewers. The series is now streaming on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.
DEXTER: RESURRECTION is executive produced by Emmy nominee Clyde Phillips (DEXTER, DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN, NURSE JACKIE), who also returns to serve as showrunner, and produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios. Michael C. Hall (DEXTER, Six Feet Under) also serves as executive producer along with Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris), and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll), with Marcos Siega (DEXTER®: NEW BLOOD) serving as producing director. Monica Raymund (DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN) is set to direct four episodes with Marcos Siega directing six episodes for the series. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Cast Bios:
Ntare Guma Mbaho stars opposite Taron Egerton in the highly anticipated AppleTV series Firebug from celebrated writer Dennis Lehane, due out in 2025. Mwine previously starred opposite Rachel Weisz in the Peabody Award-winning series Dead Ringers, on Amazon, based on David Cronenberg’s 1988 thriller, and played Detective Raymond Griggs in the David E. Kelley/Ted Humphrey Netflix hit series The Lincoln Lawyer, based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling novels. His portrayal of Walter in the award-winning IFC film, Farewell Amor, garnered him the Best Actor award at The Durban International Film Festival. Mwine also received critical acclaim for his heartbreaking portrayal of Ronnie in Showtime’s The Chi. He previously played recurring roles in The Knick, Treme, Bosch and Heroes. Mwine’s award-winning documentary, Memories of Love Returned, which he wrote, directed, and appears in (executive-produced by Steven Soderbergh) is currently screening at film festivals internationally.
Kadia Saraf is best known for her portrayal of U.S. Attorney Anya Avital in Law & Order – Special Victims Unit. Additional TV credits include The Better Sister, Blue Bloods, FBI International, and The Good Fight. A polyglot, Kadia is fluent in English, Hebrew, German, and Swiss-German. She is also conversant in ASL. In addition to her acting work, Kadia is an accomplished martial artist in Kenpo Jitsu and an amateur boxer in the Masters division of USA Boxing. Proud member of SAG AFTRA and WGA-E.
Dominic Fumusa is most known for his portrayal of “Kevin Peyton” opposite Edie Falco on the hit Showtime series NURSE JACKIE. He has guest starred and/or recurred on numerous television shows including Godfather of Harlem, Elsbeth, Justified: City Primeval, Equalizer, Goliath, Divorce, The Purge, Homeland, Taken, Blindspot, Elementary, Person of Interest, Damages, Sex and the City, all of the Law & Order incarnations and CSI: Miami and CSI: NY. Fumusa made his Broadway debut opposite Quentin Tarantino and Marisa Tomei in Wait Until Dark.
Emilia Suárez is a Bolivian-American actress, dancer, and singer-songwriter. She most recently starred in ART’s production of Romeo & Juliet alongside Rudy Pankow. She was one of the leads in Hulu’s musical comedy series Up Here and had a supporting role in the independent film A Good Person directed by Zach Braff. She was a standout in the 2020 ABC Discovers Showcase and is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon.
