Today, AMC Networks’ Acorn TV revealed the premiere date and all-new trailer for Season 2 of Recipes for Love and Murder, the South African culinary mystery series starring Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander, The Tudors). Hailed by critics as a “mix of human drama, gorgeous landscape, local color, and mouthwatering cooking” (New York Times) with a “one-of-a-kind heroine” (Variety), Season 2 of the eight-episode Acorn TV original series debuts with a two-episode premiere on Monday, March 3 on Acorn TV, with new episodes releasing weekly.
When a massive fire engulfs the small town of Eden, a fateful chain of events is triggered and Tannie Maria (Doyle Kennedy), Jessie (Kylie Fisher, Fraksie) and Khaya (Tony Kgoroge, Invictus) get dragged into a multiple murder investigation that unearths the town’s darkest secrets.
Joining Doyle Kennedy, Kgoroge, and Fisher in Season 2 are Wynand Ferreira (Moffie, Mooiweer en Warm, Wyfie), who portrays Jaco, Regardt’s intense younger brother; Gerard Rudolph (Donkerland, Devils Peak) as Ricus, a trained psychologist turned mechanic; and Hlubi Mboya (Blood Psalms, I Am All Girls) as Jackie Baloyi, the new undertaker following the passing of Hattie’s husband.
Recipes for Love & Murder is directed by Jozua Malherbe and Karen Jeynes and produced by Thierry Cassuto in a partnership between AMC Networks’ Acorn TV, Multichoice, and Both Worlds Pictures, in co-operation with Global Screen. Acorn TV hold distribution rights to the series for the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, Multichoice hold the rights for Africa, with Global Screen selling to the rest of the world.
The March 3rd Season 2 premiere and subsequent episodes of Recipes for Love and Murder will be available via Acorn TV in the U.S., Canada, UK (including Northern Ireland), Australia, and New Zealand.
