Going Dutch centers on arrogant, loudmouth U.S. Army “Colonel Patrick Quinn” (Leary), who after an epically unfiltered rant, is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least important army base in the world. After serving with distinction in every warzone over the last three decades, he now finds himself in charge of a base with no guns, no weapons and no tactical purpose. Instead, it has a Michelin Star-level commissary, top notch bowling alley, lavender-infused laundry, and the best (and only) fromagerie in the U.S. Army. Surrounded by a diverse group of military misfits, the colonel tries to reinstate discipline and professionalism with the help of the base’s previous interim leader, who just happens to be his estranged daughter (Taylor Misiak, Dave). The series also stars Danny Pudi, Laci Mosely, and Hal Cumpston. Joe Morton, Catherine Tate, and Dempsey Bryk are featured in heavily recurring roles.
The single-camera comedy is wholly owned by FOX Entertainment and is an outgrowth of Leary’s broadcast direct deal with the company. The new series comes from FOX Entertainment Studios, writer/executive producer/showrunner Joel Church-Cooper (Brockmire), and executive producers Denis Leary and Jack Leary (Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll) through their production company Amoeba. Going Dutch is produced by FOX Entertainment Studios. The series is distributed by FOX Entertainment Global.
Going Dutch is FOX Entertainment Studios’ second wholly owned live-action comedy and joins Animal Control, starring Joel McHale and executive-produced by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, Dan Sterling, Tad Quill and McHale. Renewed for a third season and scheduled to air midseason, Animal Control launched as FOX’s most-streamed scripted debut ever.
