Elizabeth MacRae, an actress best known for her role as Lou-Ann Poovie in the television series “Gomer Pyle, USMC,” passed away on May 27, 2024, at the age of 88. She died in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Elizabeth MacRae’s career spanned several decades, with notable appearances on shows like “Gunsmoke,” “The Andy Griffith Show,” and “General Hospital.” She also had roles in films such as “The Conversation” and “The Incredible Mr. Limpet.” In addition to her acting career, she worked as a substance abuse counselor after returning to her home state of North Carolina.
Her legacy includes a variety of beloved television series and films, and she was remembered for her versatility as an actress who played both comedic and dramatic roles. Elizabeth MacRae is survived by her five stepchildren and several nieces and nephews.
