Senna, a new limited series inspired by the life, career, and relationships of the greatest Brazilian driver of all times, starring Gabriel Leone, debuts in 2024.

SENNA

After Ayrton Senna, Formula 1 was never the same.

In this first teaser video for Senna, the limited series premiering in late 2024, we see the recreation of Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna’s historic victory, including the narration of Galvão Bueno, at the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos, following a challenging race where he was mostly stuck in sixth gear and also marking the first time he won in his hometown of Sao Paulo. We also see possible thoughts and experiences, interspersed with images of the race, that led Ayrton, played by Gabriel Leone, to this point in his career in addition to some iconic characters who were a part of his life that year, including Xuxa (Pâmela Tomé), Alain Prost (Matt Mella) and the McLaren team principal, Ron Dennis (Patrick Kennedy) and Galvão Bueno (Gabriel Louchard).

Over the course of six episodes, Senna will showcase, for the first time, Ayrton’s journey through triumph, disappointment, joy, and sorrow, unveiling his personality and personal relationships. The fictional series starts with the genesis of the three-time Formula 1 champion’s motor racing career, when he moves to England to compete in Formula Ford, and until his tragic accident in Imola, Italy, during the San Marino Grand Prix.

With Vicente Amorim as showrunner and co-director, alongside Julia Rezende, Senna is produced by Gullane and created in partnership with Senna Brands and the driver’s family. The exciting story of one of the world’s greatest sports heroes of all time also stars Alice Wegmann (Lilian Vasconcelos, Ayrton’s first wife), Camila Márdila (Vivianne Senna, his sister), Christian Malheiros (Maurinho, his friend), Gabriel Louchard (Galvão Bueno), Hugo Bonemer (Nelson Piquet), Julia Foti (Adriane Galisteu), Marco Ricca (“Maurão” Senna, his father) and Susana Ribeiro (Zaza Senna, his mother), plus an international cast including: Matt Mella (Alain Prost), Kaya Scodelario (a fictional journalist, Laura), Arnaud Viard (Jean-Marie Balestre), Patrick Kennedy (Ron Dennis), Joe Hurst (Keith Sutton), Johannes Heinrichs (Niki Lauda), Keisuke Hoashi (Osamu Goto), Leon Ockenden (James Hunt), Richard Clothier (Peter Warr), Steven Mackintosh (Frank Williams) and Tom Mannion (Sid Watkins), among others.

About Ayrton Senna In the world’s fastest and most global sport, Ayrton Senna is considered by F1 to be the fastest driver of all time. His impressive figures help explain why the driver has earned the title of sporting legend: winning three F1 world titles, 41 victories, 65 pole positions and 80 podiums between 1984 and 1994. Senna, however, is much more than just statistics and records: the Brazilian was responsible for some of the most magical moments in world motorsports. Ayrton established a new level of excellence in the sport and was a legend in the art of surpassing his own limits. Senna’s passion for a better Brazil, in addition to his deep-rooted drive and determination both on and off the track, set him apart. His legacy inspired the founding of the Ayrton Senna Institute. For 28 years, its mission has been to develop well-rounded individuals, preparing them for all aspects of life in the 21st century.
