Lifetime Announces New Docuseries Chronicling Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s Life Now as She Embarks on the Next Chapter as a Free Woman

On the heels of the buzzed about documentary The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard where Gypsy told her story in her own words, Lifetime has greenlit the new untitled docuseries, picking up immediately from the days before her release from prison on December 28th of last year. As a victim of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, Gypsy was abused for years by her mother and has lived her entire life in one prison or another… until now. The series follows Gypsy as she experiences life as a free woman, including finally living with her husband Ryan Anderson for the first time. A Category 6 Media™ production, part of the A+E Factual Studios™ group, the series will debut later this year on Lifetime.

The series will be an authentic, raw, and revealing look at Gypsy’s new life on the outside. From the joyful moments as she is free to make her own decisions for the first time, to the challenges of navigating life and relationships while facing her past, including the abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother, and Gypsy’s own notoriety and fame. In this delayed-coming-of-age story, Gypsy must reconcile the pop-culture, celebrity version of herself while trying to forge her brand-new identity in a “normal” world as wife, sister, daughter and most of all – a free woman.
