Killer Performance features the stories of Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Chris Watts, Chacey Poynter, Drew Peterson, and Stephen McDaniel who all put on masterful manipulations during public investigations including press conferences, interviews, and court appearances. Friday and Saturday nights in February @ 9PM ET/ 6PM PT feature new episodes of hit original documentary series On Patrol: Live which the network recently renewed for 90 more episodes extending the run of the series for a third season through January 2025. Each episode is preceded by a new episode of On Patrol: First Shift @ 8PM ET/ 5PM PT where viewers get additional insight and updates from previous episodes of OPL. February 2024 also marks five REELZ premieres with stories about real people in shocking situations from brushes with death in 101 Near Misses to police officers in the line of fire in World’s Scariest Police Shootouts while disastrous driving takes center stage in World’s Worst Drivers.
“With new episodes of On Patrol: Live through January 2025 we look forward to giving our viewers more of what they’re craving continuing with new episodes in February,” said Steve Cheskin, SVP of REELZ Programming. “To accompany our viewers’ interest in all things law enforcement new original series Killer Performance gives them an intimate and astonishing look at the most brazen attempts by murderers to dupe everyone including detectives with their fake grief, crocodile tears, and elaborate lies.”
February 2024 premieres are led by new original series Killer Performance on Monday, February 12 @ 9PM ET/ 6PM PT about the diabolical personas of murderers who cry fake tears to manipulate the media and public in a disturbing attempt to exonerate themselves from their crimes. Killer Performance explores chilling cases where public appearances and police interviews played host for killers Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Drew Peterson, Chacey Poynter, Stephen McDaniel, and Chris Watts to feign grief in attempts to persuade the public of their innocence. Some aspects of the psychopathic mind these killers exhibited was the need to be in control, the egotistical belief that they were a step ahead of everyone else, and the feeling that they were getting away with murder. During a public investigation, these master manipulators are given countless opportunities to practice their evil performance. Press conferences, interviews, and court appearances are all stages for the killer to control the media narrative by faking grief and spinning a web of lies.
New in February 2024 on Friday and Saturday nights are episodes of On Patrol: Live @ 9PM ET/ 6PM PT. On Patrol: Live follows live news-gathering protocols as its cameras document for viewers in real time the everyday work of police officers on patrol. Host and Executive Producer Dan Abrams, alongside Deputy Sheriff Curtis Wilson, provides minute-by-minute live analysis and context, offering unique insight into the experiences of the men and women of law enforcement appearing on the show. The live show content is complemented by segments dedicated to tracking down America’s most wanted criminals, as well as finding missing people through the help of weekly “Missing” segments that air in conjunction with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Black and Missing Foundation (BAMFI). During these segments, the show calls on the viewing public and OPL’s broad social media footprint, known as #OPNation, to reach out to NCMEC’s and BAMFI’s special hotlines, should they have any information related to the missing persons. Segments are also shared via the show’s platforms on Twitter (@OfficialOPLive), Instagram (@officialoplive) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ReelzOfficialOPLive/). Before every new episode of On Patrol: Live is a new episode of On Patrol: First Shift, airing Friday and Saturday nights @ 8PM ET/ 5PM PT and providing updates of past stories covered by the show and presenting a look forward to the coming live episode. On Patrol: Live is produced by Half Moon Pictures for REELZ. Executive Producers are Dan Cesareo, John Zito, Lucilla D’Agostino, Paul Gordon, Joe Venafro and Dan Abrams.
