New Comedy, “Ted” Based on the Movies by Seth MacFarlane Premieres January 11, 2024 on Peacock [VIDEO]

The original Ted movie and its sequel, Ted 2, were some of the best-loved R-rated comedies of the 2010s, giving rise to a slew of catchphrases and introducing an unlikely bromance between a 20-something slacker (Mark Wahlberg) and his, uh, trash-talking, hard-partying teddy bear.

Now, in this TV prequel, we’ll finally learn more of Ted’s backstory. Will we see a softer, younger Ted more akin to the generic plushies of our childhoods? The new teaser provides a sneak peek, and we’re happy to report that Ted is just as raunchy as ever.

All seven episodes of the prequel series Ted will premiere exclusively on Peacock on January 11.

Ted the bear’s moment of fame has passed, leaving him living with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett, who lives in a working-class Boston home with his parents and cousin. Ted may not be the best influence on John, but when it comes right down to it, he’s willing to go out on a limb to help his friend and his family.
