Today, YouTube premiered a brand-new episode of Flowers, the 3-part series that explores Black creativity, the culture behind YouTube trends, and the untold stories of Black Creators on the global platform.
The episode spotlights popular Creator Nyma Tang (1.35M subscribers), as she gets the flowers she deserves, here and now, for her series “The Darkest Shade,” which sparked a conversation on YouTube around the need for inclusion in the beauty industry. From amplifying the urgency for greater beauty diversity to sharing the true stories of Black Creators behind everyone’s favorite beauty trends, Tang authentically shares her perspective and voice for greater change. Viewers can watch the latest episode, “How @NymaTang helped change the beauty industry | #YouTubeBlack presents Flowers,” now only on YouTube’s Official Channel.
The series, Flowers presented by #YouTubeBlack, debuted in September with the premiere episode highlighting Creator sWooZie (7.75M subscribers). The episode, “How @swoozie inspired an entire genre of animation | #YouTubeBlack presents Flowers,” focuses on sWoozie’s integral role in creating the storytime animation format that has become integral to animation on YouTube. The final episode, premiering January 18, will feature Creator Bianca Bonnie (74.3K subscribers) and be available to watch on her official YouTube channel. Bianca Bonnie has taken the entertainment world by storm with her multifaceted talent and contribution to the viral dance culture.
