Warner Bros. Animation Has Landed a Pilot Order for “Bedrock,” an animated sequel to “The Flintstones” for FOX.
The reboot will star the voice talents of Stephen Root as Fred; Amy Sedaris as Wilma; Joe Lo Truglio as Barney; Nicole Byer as Betty; Elizabeth Banks as Pebbles; and Manny Jacinto as Bamm-Bamm.
Lindsay Kerns and Lon Zimmet co-wrote the pilot and will executive produce alongside Banks, Max Handelman, and Sam Register for Brownstone Productions, Warner Bros. Animation, and FOX Entertainment.
The original Flintstones was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and was the first animated sitcom to hold a prime-time slot on television. It was originally broadcast on ABC from September 30, 1960, to April 1, 1966.
The Flintstones was the most financially successful and longest-running network animated television series for three decades, until The Simpsons surpassed it in 1997. In 2013, TV Guide ranked The Flintstones the second-greatest TV cartoon of all time (after The Simpsons).
