Everyone’s a suspect in the Sunshine State when the first two episodes of PANHANDLE drop exclusively on Spectrum (available on-demand, free, and without ads) on Monday, September 26. New episodes of the Sony Pictures Television Studios-produced series will continue dropping each Monday. The eight-episode series will also have an exclusive free advertising-supported window on The Roku Channel as a Roku Original at a later date.
PANHANDLE pairs an eccentric, agoraphobic arm-chair detective “Bell Prescott” (Luke Kirby) with a reluctant traffic cop “Cammie Lorde” (Tiana Okoye) in a series that showcases community, connection, and yes, only-in-Florida characters. When a dead body winds up on Prescott’s doorstep, he and Cammie are forced to wrestle with personal demons, some shocking twists, and a few Florida gators on their journey to heal themselves and their small Florida town.
The series stars Luke Kirby “Bellweather ‘Bell’ Prescott”, Tiana Okoye “Cammie Lorde,” Forrest Goodluck “Checotah,” Lorenza Izzo “Vida,” Wallace Smith “Dr. Otis,” Glenn Morshower “Sheriff Grant,” and Lesley Ann Warren “Millicent Prescott.” Recurring Guest Stars include Melanie Minichino “Darby Hix,” Landon Chase DuBois “Tyler,” Mo Gallini “Alejandro,” David De Vries “Skramstad,” Deja Dee “Bitty,” Paulina Gálvez “Alicia Perez,” and Scott Takeda “Mayor Carter Iwanaga.” Grant Feely is also co-starring as “Young Bell.”
PANHANDLE is produced by Sony Pictures Television Studios and the series is created and written by executive producers Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Neighbors) and Carla Kettner (The Blacklist, Bones). Conor Welch also serves as an executive producer. Colin Bucksey (The Great, Fargo, Breaking Bad) will direct and executive produce the pilot episode.
