Shortly after Mayor Alex McKenzie presents the key to the city of Toronto to local hero and basketball game inventor Dr. James Naismith, the mayor is found dead in the gymnasium equipment room, crushed under a barbell. With the cash box missing, what initially looks like misadventure is quickly ascertained as murder. Detective Murdoch and his colleagues are on the case!
