Based on Agatha Christie’s 1934 novel, this upcoming mystery might just be the highlight of your spring.
The novel was praised as “a story that tickles and tantalises.”
In April 2021, it was announced that Hugh Laurie would be adapting the novel and directing the production for BritBox. The filming took place in Surrey, mainly in the village of Shere, between June and August 2021. In January 2022, Hugh Laurie announced that the post-production has ended and that the three-part series will be available on BritBox on April 14, 2022.
This three-part series boasts an all-star cast with Jim Broadbent and Emma Thompson playing aristocrats Lord and Lady Marcham, who are the parents of Lady Frances. The story follows the vicar’s son Bobby Jones, played by Will Poulter, and his adventurous friend, socialite Lady Frances ‘Frankie’ Derwent (Lucy Boynton), as they dig deep into a murder. But their amateur sleuthing brings no end of trouble their way.
