STAR TREK, starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Leonard Nimoy in the 2009 reboot of the iconic film from the Paramount Pictures library, will be broadcast as the CBS SUNDAY NIGHT MOVIE October 3 @ 8:30PM ET/8PM, PT on the CBS Television Network. The film was directed by acclaimed producer J.J. Abrams from a script written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
The film features the crew aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, including rivals James T. Kirk (Pine), impulsive and eager to live up to his father’s legacy, and Spock (Quinto), void of emotion and logic-based. The two must keep their clashes to a minimum to prevent a vengeful being from destroying all mankind. STAR TREK also stars Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoë Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Ben Cross, Winona Ryder, Chris Hemsworth, and Jennifer Morrison.
During the movie, there will be a look at Alex Kurtzman’s upcoming animated kids’ series STAR TREK: PRODIGY. The original series launches Thursday, October 28 with a one-hour episode exclusively on Paramount+. STAR TREK: PRODIGY is produced by Nickelodeon and CBS Studios’ Eye Animation Productions.
