After a woman’s body is found in a drum of lye, Murdoch (Yannick Bisson)’s past haunts him. The victim is his former lover Anna Fulford (Lisa Faulkner), who’d spent years fleeing the Blackhand crime syndicate. And now it appears they finally caught her. Angry with her husband, Ruth (Siobhan Murphy) leaves Higgins (Lachlan Murdoch) for the Murdoch home where her pregnant princess routine tests Ogden (Hélène Joy)’s patience. Violet Hart (Shanice Banton) regrets her impulsive elopement. And Watts (Daniel Maslany) pursues a young boy who shot at a group of men in Arthur (James Graham)’s restaurant then fled. Meanwhile, turmoil in Brackenreid (Thomas Craig)’s personal life put his professional life in jeopardy.

Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) quickly realizes Harry (Etienne Kellici), the boy who shot at the Blackhand crime boss to avenge his mother Anna (Lisa Faulkner)’s murder, is his son. Ogden (Hélène Joy) is stunned but eager to accept the boy out of love for Murdoch. Meanwhile, elsewhere love takes a beating. Crabtree (Jonny Harris)’s proposal to Effie (Clare McConnell) is dashed, Watts (Daniel Maslany) braces for Jack (Jesse LaVercombe)’s marriage, and Higgins (Lachlan Murdoch) and Ruth (Siobhan Murphy) remain separated despite their imminent baby.
