Whisper, a 20-year-old beluga whale at Georgia Aquarium, gave birth to a calf on Sunday, May 17 at Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, currently closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A rare birth, Whisper’s calf weighed 174 pounds and is five feet four inches in length.
The full birth story, behind-the-scenes moments, and some surprise details will be featured in an all-new special episode of Animal Planet’s THE AQUARIUM on Saturday, May 30 at 10PM ET/PT.
