Matthew Broderick has been cast in three TV roles, including on “The Conners” playing a potential love interest for Laurie Metcalf’s grieving character. Broderick’s Peter will first appear in the ABC comedy’s Halloween episode, titled “There Won’t Be Blood,” airing Tuesday, October 30 at 8/7c on ABC.
Broderick has also been cast in the Netflix dramedy series “Daybreak,” the story of a 17-year-old high school outcast who goes searching for his missing girlfriend in post-apocalyptic Glendale, California. His motley crew of travel companions includes his former bully (now a samurai) and a 12-year-old pyromaniac. According to an official release from Netflix, Broderick will play Principal Burr “The cheerful, upbeat principal of Glendale High… Burr is genuinely trying to be part of the solution: a good guy, an advocate, and ally for all. But let’s face it, kids can be monsters.”, his first time back in high school since “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” — that was 32 years ago, can you believe it?
On the upcoming third season of Pamela Adlon’s FX comedy series “Better Things,” Broderick will play a counselor. Details about the storyline are being kept under wraps. The series has earned Adlon two lead actress in a comedy series Emmy nominations.
Broderick is next starring in the feature “To Dust,” which was named Audience Favorite at the Tribeca Film Festival and is set for a January 2019 release. He also is one of the voice stars of Paramount’s upcoming animated film “Wonder Park” opposite Jennifer Garner and Mila Kunis.
