
It’s all new on ABC tonight! Starting off the big night is with “Roseanne” without Roseanne in the revival, “The Conners” at 8:00PM. After a sudden turn of events, the working-class Conner family to enter unfamiliar territory as they deal with a variety of struggles in their personal lives, while they try to make ends meet on a limited household income. Cast: Sara Gilbert, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman, and Maya Lynne Robinson.
At 8:30PM is the SERIES PREMIERE of “The Kids Are Alright.” Set in the 1970s, this ensemble comedy follows a traditional Irish-Catholic family, the Clearys, as they navigate big and small changes during one of America’s most turbulent decades. In a working-class neighborhood outside Los Angeles, Mike and Peggy raise eight boisterous boys who live out their days with little supervision. The household is turned upside down when oldest son Lawrence returns home and announces he’s quitting the seminary to go off and “save the world.” Times are changing and this family will never be the same. There are 10 people, three bedrooms, one bathroom and everyone in it for themselves.
In tonight’s pilot, the family is affected when the oldest son makes an announcement that he’s quitting the seminary to help the world.

At 9:00PM “black-ish” returns for a fifth season (really? seems like it just started). Dre and Bow drop Junior off at college, but they are shocked when he returns home and tells them that he plans to take a gap year; Jack and Diane start to question whether they should still be sharing a room with each other.

At 9:30PM “Splitting Up Together” returns for it’s first full season. After sleeping together, Lena explores her relationship with Martin, but doubts surface during a romantic beach getaway; Arthur and Camille try to determine if Lisa Apple is pregnant with Martin’s baby; Maya struggles to make a decision. Cast: Jenna Fischer, Oliver Hudson, Bobby Lee, Lindsay Price, Olivia Keville, and Van Crosby.
At 10:00PM it’s “The Rookie,” starring Nathan Fillion. After a life-changing incident leads a small-town man to pursue his dream of being a Los Angeles police officer, he ends up becoming the oldest cop on the team, which leads him to face challenges that he attempts to overcome. It looks good to me.
