Game of Thrones will return in April, HBO has not announced the exact date in April. The show usually premieres either the first or second Sunday in April, but the new Martin Scorsese-produced series Vinyl debuts February 14 and will run for ten weeks, meaning its season finale happens April 17. As such, HBO has moved the Game of Thrones season six debut ahead to a date later in the month.

season 6 would have been written before any of the controversy even happened. Unless they’re psychics, they wouldn’t have been able to write season 6 with season 5’s criticisms in mind.
