Hi, I'm Morty, and this is my daily Big
Brother re-cap page. As a fan of Big Brother, I will like some houseguests
better than others, and my bias will show in my commentary, sorry. In
addition to numerous health issues, I am dyslexic and the English classes I
took were a long time ago, and pretty much forgotten, but most people
should be able to get the gist of things. Updates may only be post
ed once
or twice a day this year. You may remember Fuskie, who did the play-by-play
coverage of the live shows. This year Fuskie will be
Twittering for me. I don't
want to start thanking everyone, the list is too long, but thanks to
everyone for all you do. As always: I reserve the right to bail-out this
year if my doctor tells me to, or if I hate all the houseguests.
In a
recent interview Julie Chen revealed a few new details about Big Brother's
Sabotage" twist. Julie said the producers chose the Saboteur based on
the 13 houseguests that were selected. There was supposed be 14, but
according to JokersUpdates, the
14th houseguest, Paola Aviles, a 30-year-old Real Estate Agent from
Huntington Beach, California, appears to have gotten cold feet when it
came to actually starting out the season of
Big Brother 12,.
Julie also revealed that the twist will only last for 5 weeks. If the
Saboteur makes it all the way to the halfway point in the game then he/she
will win $50,000.
As of right now, the producers have yet to decide if The Saboteur will be
eligible to continue playing the game for the $500,000. Their current stance
is they are not eligible, but are leaving the door open to change their
minds in the future. You can view the whole interview
here.
Correction: I mistakenly thought the new real.com format could be
viewed on the iPod, however because it is based on Flash (and Apple and the
Adobe Flash people are feuding), it won't work. The early opinions on
the new format are mixed. I was never a fan of the Real Player, and
now you don't need it to get all the great SuperPass content, like your
favorite shows from The Discovery Channel, TLC, and Animal Planet.
The folks at real.com are aware they forgot some features, and they're
promising to fix those shortcomings as soon as possible.
For those of you that want to do screen captures, I think the
easiest way to do that is just press the "Prt Scr" key (many keyboards
require you to also press "Shift" or "Func" at the same time). This
copies the whole screen to your clipboard. Open your favorite graphics
program (Windows comes with "Paint") and "Paste" the clipboard as a new
image, then you can crop and save it. I use IrfanView
to edit graphics, and it also has a built-in screen capture function,
it's very handy and it's free.

Yesterday
the houseguests entered the house and the game officially began. Presumably
the first Head of House has already already been crowned.
Today, the cast hung out at the Big Brother pool to take this fourth of

Is the Suspense Killing You?
Late Saturday afternoon the 13
contestants competing in Big Brother 12 moved into their summer house, and
here is the first
CBS image from Big Brother 12 showing the contestants as they start entering
the house. They certainly look excited to finally get this adventure
started, and we won't get to watch them until Thursday, July 8th
when they turn the live feeds on.
This year, REAL.COM has a new method displaying the live feeds.
Instead of watching them in the RealPlayer, they've embedded the video
in a web page interface, kind of like YouTube.com. This should
make catching all the excitement easier, as you'll be able to watch
from work (in places where there's no Real player installed) . So take
advantage of the Early Bird Special, and when you sign up, do it by
clicking on
this link, so that Morty will get a commission on the deal.
If you're feeling nostalgic, while you're waiting for Big Brother
12, you can stroll down memory lane to Big Brother 5, in the original BB
house and see a bunch of your old favorite houseguests, on the fourth season
episode of "Yes Dear," entitled "Big Brother-in-Law." In this
famous episode, Jimmy (Mike O'Malley), auditions and gets accepted on Big
Brother. Once inside the house all havoc breaks loose. It's a
good episode with lots of inside jokes. You can watch it for free at
MegaVideo.com.
A hot topic in the BB rumor mills is that the fourteenth HG dropped out
during the sequester process. Viewers, however, noticed that the
memory wall still has 14 frames on it. So was production slow in
changing the memory wall, or should we be looking for a twist?
There are a lot of sites posting more in depth profiles of the
houseguests. Here are some links to them:

this year's token gay guy, he's a bit theatrical.
Hmmm, that's just 13, perhaps the saboteur will be revealed later.
You'll have to excuse my lack of descriptions on some of them, not
everyone was described in detail.

Big Brother 12
Saboteur
Today CBS announced today the twist for
this season's Big Brother.. For the 12th installment of the series, there
will be one houseguest whose sole purpose is to shake up the house and the
game.
This Big Brother "Saboteur," as he or she is being called, will receive
their commands directly from the viewers, who will learn the mole’s identity
during the first live eviction show on July 15. (You can find out more about
how the audience will factor into this
here.)
The longer the Saboteur hides their identity from the other housemates and
can stay in the game, the more money they win.
Executive producer Allison
Grodner calls the person "a game piece ... that will make life for the
houseguests harder than ever before."

Getting Close
This Wednesday (June 30th) is media day
in the Big brother house. This is the day when the press and a few
celebrity fans get to take the new Big Brother House for a test ride.
They spend a simulated day in the house that includes playing in a
challenge. During their stay, they are not permitted to use cell
phones, but when they get out, they'll have pictures of the house and
lots of gossip. This also means we're just a few days away from
learning who the new HGs will be.
We did learn from the commercial that,
there will be 14 houseguests again this year, and this time for the first
time in Big Brother history there will be one guest that is not playing to
win.

Life's a Beach, and so is Big Brother 12
As the premiere of
Big Brother 12 nears, speculation and rumors abound, here's what we
know so far:
The theme of Big Brother 12 is
beach parties and the house has been decked out as the ultimate beach house.
Casting has been completed and we expect to get our
first look at the new batch of houseguests next week.
Real announced new features and content to make it
even more important to subscribe to the live feeds.
Janelle from BB6 and All-Stars will be joining
the Big Brother SuperPass team to enhance your experience this summer.
More details to come.
Chelsia from BB9. Chelsia will once again be
involved in the SuperPass experience this year with live video chat
shows.
Flashback . Last season a feature called
Flashback was introduced to allow subscribers to “rewind” to a specific
moment on the live feeds to watch the most exciting events over and
over.
Web-based viewing. You will now be able to watch
the live feeds in a web browser instead of using RealPlayer.
Live events almost every day. Video call in shows and exclusive chats
will be available for Big Brother 12 live feed subscribers.
$10 a month of FREE music downloads.
By signing up now, and using
this link, you'll save money and be supporting our site at the
same time. Those of you that bought Jeff's BB Reloader program will
have to make do with the links to the no-time-out feeds, there will
not be a a reloader for BB12. Real networks has also made a new web based
viewing experience, that sounds like Real has built in it's own version of
the reloader.
The rumor that this is the last
season of Big Brother is not true, yet. Just like last year, CBS
hasn't committed to future editions of Big Brother, but as of now,
if this season's ratings are sufficient, a Big Brother 13 is expected.
The rumor could be confusion caused be the announcement that this is the
last season for the British version.
After going around with Jordan, Jeff Schroeder is going
around the world, in a new series.
The series will chronicle the real-time travels of Jeff
Schroeder, a veteran of CBS reality shows "Big Brother" and "The Amazing Race,"
as he attempts to globe-trot without so much as a dollar to his name, relying on
strangers and online viewers to dictate and potentially accommodate his every
move -- all with the aid of integrated sponsors AT&T, to connect Mr. Schroeder
to his fans, and American Airlines, to fly him to his various destinations.
The ambitious premise echoes that of 19 Entertainment's "If I
Can Dream," a reality series on online video site Hulu that also unfolds in
real-time and allows fans to vote in new cast members, with integrations from
presenting sponsors Pepsi and Ford along the way. And just as "Dream" got more
than a little bit of traditional media exposure from cross-promotion on 19
Entertainment's "American Idol," "Around the World for Free" will be heavily
promoted on CBS Corp.'s radio properties, online audience network and prime-time
summer lineup, particularly during the new season of "Big Brother." Mr.
Schroeder will make appearances on CBS's "The Early Show" to reach the daytime
crowd as well.
"Around the World for Free" is actually the second season of
a show that was originally conceived by "Amazing Race" winner Alex Boylan and
"Survivor: Pearl Islands" vet Burton Roberts, produced independently and
eventually acquired by CBS.
