The Great Pumpkin was first mentioned by Linus in Peanuts in 1959 and inspired the 1966 animated television special It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

On Tuesday, October 20th, ABC will air two Halloween classic animated specials, the 1966 classic, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown @ 8:00PM followed by Disney/Pixar’s 2013 Toy Story of TERROR! at 8:30PM.

As the Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween, Linus camps out in the pumpkin patch to hold vigil for the arrival of the mythical Great Pumpkin; Charlie Brown gets rocks in his trick-or-treat bag and an invitation to a costume party.

Toy Story of Terror! is based on the Disney Pixar Toy Story movies. It is set shortly after the events of Toy Story 3, with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, Timothy Dalton, and Kristen Schaal reprising their roles of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Mr. Potato Head, Rex, Mr. Pricklepants, and Trixie with Carl Weathers as Combat Carl and Stephen Tobolowsky as the motel manager.

The special follows the toys on their road trip, when a flat tire leads Bonnie and her mother to spend the night in a roadside motel. After Mr. Potato Head goes missing, the others begin to search for him, but they find themselves caught up in a mysterious, monstrous, and terrifying sequence of events that lead them to a big conspiracy.
