TV Locations

TV exterior filming locations have always been a favorite subject of mine.  I've found a bunch of fantastic sites full of photos.

See tons of photos and aerial shots of the Warner Brothers Ranch (formerly General Service Service Studios backlot) where "Bewitched," "Dennis the Menace," "Small Soldiers," and many other were shot.  Visit www.1164.com.

Check out the full history of RKO's Forty Acres, the Culver City Studio's backlot that served as Mayberry on "The Andy Griffith Show."   This priceless piece of cinema and TV history (it was bulldozed in 1976 to make way for an industrial park) has been preserved at:  http://employees.oxy.edu/jerry/rko40.htm

TV Party is a great site,  and in keeping in their tradition of doing TV right, they have a great section on Classic TV Sitcom Houses: Where are they Now?

I've got more on "location" web sites that will be featured in "On Location with Morty" when that section gets updated.

Checking out Bewitching Sites

"Bewitched" is one of the most popular shows in re-runs, and one of the most popular subjects for web sites.  I've been a fan of "Bewitched" since I was a child, and a fan of bewitched.net for years.

Bewitched.net is the first and original "Bewitched" web site on the net.  It's been visited by over a million guests.  This site has the best content, some of which has been donated by cast members of the "Bewitched" series.  Unfortunately, the lay-out and navigation resembles your grandmother's attic.  But poke around up there, you'll find many hidden treasures.

"Bewitched" @ Harpies Bizarre is a beautiful site, stunning graphics and design.  The content is also terrific.  Where they may not have some of the exclusive stuff that Bewitched.net has, they make it up with "Bewitched" games and postcards and all kinds of cleaver things that will keep you there for hours.

Want more?  Stop by Vic's Bewitched Site. Vic's got sounds and photos.   Brienne's Bewitched Site  is the new kid on the block and includes a message board.  "Bewitched", a series so great it's inspired some of the best web sites on the net.
