#13 "It Could All Backfire" |
|
Part 1 [Written by: Jem ]
Koror Night 33 Back form Tribal Council. Jenn is really miffed. She
didn’t see Gregg being voted off coming. She tells us, “Gregg turns out to be
voted out, I had NO IDEA! I was completely blown away. He’s defiantly been a big
part of my existence here and keeping me comfortable. Especially at night, so it
was really shocking.” [She is actually chocked up a little over it.] We hear Tom
tell Jenn “You know it wasn’t personal?” She replies sarcastically, ABSOLUTELY!
I was shocked for the first few seconds, and then it was like, Ok! Game on!”
Day 34
Caryn and Tom are talking game on the beach out of ear shot of the rest of the
tribe. He is trying to reassure her that she is safe with himself and Ian, and
that she will be in the final three with them. She is worried. She doesn’t think
Ian will want to take out Katie and Jenn before her. Meanwhile, back at the
shelter, Ian, Katie and Jen are talking about taking out Tom or Caryn. But Ian
doesn’t want to go back on his word to Tom. (It’s like a TV soap!) Back to Tom
and Caryn, Tom thinks
Katie and Jenn want to take out one of the guys.
In an interview, Caryn tells us, “I’m glaringly optimistic that I will be in the
final three.”
Ian and Tom later go for tree mail.
Up the creek again,
A paddle could help you out.
Where in the world are you?
Far from home no doubt.
Use your passion and precision,
And by the time you’re through.
You’ll enjoy the great taste of home,
And Palau’s most amazing view. |
Before going back to camp, Ian and Tom discuss if one of them win, who they will
take. They don’t want to have all three girls back at camp plotting. Ian wants
to take Katie and Tom is saying it’s better to take Caryn. Neither can really
agree to what’s best.
Reward Challenge
We see five pontoons out in the water, and a traditional Palau raft dock with
five rafts. Jeff first shows them what they are playing for. He pulls a tarp
away to show the Survivors a nice shiny new Red Corvette convertible.
The pontoons have five colored bags tied to them. The survivor will
paddle out and retrieve one of their colored bags at a time, bring them back to
the dock and paddle out for the next. Once they have all five bags, they come
back and open them to find 5 mile markers. They will then place the correct mile
marker on the corresponding city. The first one correct. Wins the nice shiny Red
Corvette and a night at one of the most luxurious mansions in Palau with a BBQ.
They draw for position and Jeff starts them, Tom and Ian are head to head, then
its Jenn, Katie and Caryn. It stays that way for most of the challenge. (Sounds
boring, but was fun to watch.) Tom and Ian butt rafts a few times, Jenn almost

knocks Caryn off her and Katie is stuck out in the middle of the water going in
circles. I don’t even think Katie got one bag. It’s a close race till Tom tries
to cut corners and ditches his forth bags to make up time. It goes in the drink
and he has to pick it up before he can go for the fifth and final bag. Ian makes
it back with his last bag, makes it to shore and starts placing the mile markers
on the cities. Once done, Jeff checks, Ian has it correct and wins reward.
Ian runs over and kisses the car. Jeff then asks him to pick one person to take
with him. Katie is really excited, and you can see it in her face. Ian says. I
promised Katie I would take her. But I also always said to Tom from day one, if
I won a car I would take him. I’m going to pick Tom. Katie’s face - Priceless!
Part
I
[12 minutes]
Part 2 [Written by: Tabitha ] As Ian and Tom cruise down the
dirt road to paradise, Tom says, “Can you believe the day you’re having?” Ian
replies, “This is one for the books!” (I believe Tom giggled!) Ian tells us that
he’s never been able to afford a car
before, so the Corvette is fantastic! The
mansion with its breathtaking view, situated atop green mountains is where we
find Ian and Tom talking strategy while enjoying wine and a fine display of
bread, crackers, links, (meat), and fruit. They are astounded by the mansion and
thrilled by the spread. Ian says it’s the best place to have a party in the
world! Ian tells Tom that when he first won (reward) and he brought him and not
Katie, he felt bad for Katie, but she had turned her back on him the last
challenge. Tom piped in that she did the same by trying to sway Gregg into
voting him out. Ian says
he doesn’t feel THAT bad. [This is where Tom comes in
with the “We-need-tas”.] He starts dictating to Ian that they now had to
convince Katie to come back to their alliance and that the three of them are
still going to the end. Tom tells us “Weneedta get Katie back… I hope Ian can
bring her back into this…Because it’s our only play.” [I wondered why he isn’t
taking control of THIS one? They always say courage comes in the form of liquid.
And Ian and Tom have it.]
Back at Koror Caryn asks Katie what happened and how and when things went
down. Katie tells her since day one. She says she and Ian made a promise that
they’d stick together until the end and he told her yesterday he would pick her
over Tom, they’ve had a bond since the first day (Jenn’s face perks up and
becomes very attentive) and he chose Tom. She feels like she lost her best
friend out there. Katie tells us how bummed she is that her biggest ally is
gone.
Katie brings up the fact that the opportunity to bring to life an all female
alliance was stupidly not done and that another opportunity is upon them. Katie
gets Caryn to admit that she and Tom do have a deal and then Caryn lets the cat
out that Tom told her that he, Katie and Ian were in cahoots. Jenn, aghast at
this little nugget, asks Katie if it’s true. Katie denies it not. “Katie just
cleaned house”, Jenn tells us. She tells us she has been unaware of this
information and is just now realizing Katie has been playing a strong game and
needs to be wary of her. (Now I’m aghast! We’re on what day?)
The three girls agree that this Tribal Council would be a great time to overtake
the boys by either voting out Ian or Tom should one or the other win Immunity
instead of one of them. Caryn agrees to the plan to their faces but tells us, as
usual, she is confused about what to do and doesn’t know which side she is going
to take. Katie comments that it was an “immature” thing for Ian to do – leaving
three women together to plot, especially one who’s pissed off.
Koror Day 35 Tom and Ian approach camp after their lovely retreat. Ian
tells Tom they need to talk to Katie. He says we-need-ta go over now while
they’re all sleeping. Oh! But here comes Caryn sneaking like a squirrel through
the trees and rushes straight over to Ian, ignoring Tom’s first question (not Hi
Caryn, how are ya?, but “Did anyone flip sides?) and asks Ian straight up, “Is
it me, you and Katie? Or me, you and Tom?” Ian stammers to an extreme and at
first says, “It’s me, you and Ka-, I mean, me, you and Tom.” (a sideward glance
from Tom inserted here) Caryn asks why she should believe him. Tom says it’s
because Katie didn’t stay loyal. Ian, whose stuttering became worse as he tried
to explain that he did have a deal with Katie in the beginning and after some
more stuttering spit out that he told Tom that he’s not making a decision until
tonight (at Tribal). Again, Tom says, “If you haven’t flipped with the girls,
it’s you (staying).” Tom asks what the other half is, what’s going on. Caryn
won’t tell. This makes Tom uneasy. Ian and Tom walk away from Caryn with Tom
telling Ian that he messed up and that they lost Caryn’s vote tonight. He tells
us Ian better be tight with Katie because of how things went down with Caryn.
Ian wants to talk – Katie doesn’t, since she just woke up. Ian is stressing
pretty hard, venting to Tom that this is “girl stuff from back home”. Finally,
Ian asks Katie for five minutes alone to talk. They take a stroll down the
beach.
At first, Ian starts in with the reward challenge and how two days ago … Katie
stops him and says it’s not about that. He moves on and holds out his necklace
and says that no matter what anybody else said, he swore on it that he would
never vote against her. He gives her the "girls back home" analogy. She tells
him her “lost my best friend” analogy in turn. The tears are turned on, Katie’s
first, and she tells Ian she can’t believe him anymore, that he lied to her
yesterday and he was the closest thing to family…” She goes on (and on) about
how she feels that he can just step all over her without even thinking about how
she feels. She says she was embarrassed. Ian is tearing up now and getting so
upset he throws himself down on the ground! Katie is whining something about,
“You could’ve told me… (waah waah) …oh, by the way, we’re voting off Gregg!” He
says, “That was totally different. Dinner?” She says, “Not dinner, a promise!”
Ian, struggling for words (surprise), says he’s sorry, he wouldn’t do it
deliberately and admits being scatter-brained. He asks if she wants him to step
out. She says she would never ask him to do that. He asks her forgiveness and
says he’ll try to be her friend for the rest of his life. He says he’s off his
rocker in so many ways and apologizes again. They share a big hug and he says
he’ll try not to be stupid again. Go, Ian! Work it for that million dollars,
baby!
Part
II
[10 minutes]
Part III [Written by: Jem ] Koror Day 36 Tom and Caryn are on
the beach talking, he is trying to get information out of Caryn about Katie. Is
Katie annoyed with Ian for taking Tom on reward? Caryn tells us, “Immunity is
key for Tom and Ian and I think they are desperate. They’re just freaking out.
The girls are just tired of the guys pulling the strings, and now we are taking
control.” Tom and Caryn also head out for Tree Mail. They keep talking alliances
and strategy. When they get back to the shelter, Caryn asks the sleepy-heads if
they want her to read the clue for the Immunity Challenge. They all say yeah
while trying to wake up to take it in.
You may have a memory like and
elephant
But you better move like a gazelle
Brains and retention are paramount
But agility is required as well
Concentration is only half of it
Losing focus would be a shame
Either move smart and swiftly
Or you could be the next to leave the game. |
Tom tells us, “At this point now it’s scrambling. You know, save your own
neck. You can only take an alliance so far, then, everyone looks out for their
own better interest. It’s usually the weakest person in an alliance that’s gonna
flop to the other majority. Katie is that weak member and she is looking to
better her deal with us now. I don’t hold it against her, but it’s the reality
of this game.”
Katie and Tom are on the beach, Tom is really pushing it hard and you can tell
Katie is a little agitated. Tom is telling her that Ian needs to go. In an
interview Katie later tells us, “This morning I’ve been bombarded by Tom trying
to bully me. How, once again, I won’t have his vote if I take him out. My only
chance for the final two is for me to go with him and Ian. Tom sucks today, he
is threatening and being mean and I don’t like it!” (Oh cry me a river, go pout
somewhere else)
Immunity Challenge After they make their way to the challenge, Jeff
explains. “You will make your way across a wobbly bridge, over a series of
floating pontoons, and then navigate across a rope bridge. At the end you will
find a memory puzzle with 15 images. Memorize the position of all 15 images, as
you can. Then make your way back, where you will find your own memory grid.
Start duplicating that puzzle with the pieces provided. The first person to
correctly duplicate that puzzle wins immunity. A couple of rules first, 1. Fall
off an obstacle at anytime and you must go back to the beginning. 2. If you call
out for me to check your puzzle and its wrong. You have to go back and check the
grid before it will be checked again. Also, each puzzle is different, so
checking your neighbors won’t help you.”
Once
the survivors are in place, Jeff starts them off. Ian Tom and Katie are head to
head. Caryn and Katie fall off the rope bridge. Katie gets her foot stuck; she
and Caryn both have to go back. Meanwhile Tom and Ian are on their way back and
Jenn stays behind to memorize the puzzle better. Tom takes a huge fall a few
times and at one stage he bites the dust as he is going back and forth. I think
Caryn and Katie finally make it to the end to read the grid, but I never take to
much notice of these two, they just never really do well in a challenge.
Ian’s long legs help him in this challenge, I was watching him and the rope
bridge is three giant steps for him. Ian calls for Jeff to check him, he isn’t
correct and Jeff tells Ian, “GO GO GO!” [I think he wants Ian to win...lol] Tom
calls out to Jeff that he has it, Jeff checks and it’s wrong so he heads back.
In the end, Tom makes it back faster (after falling again) and fixes his puzzle.
Jeff looks and announces that Tom is correct. Tom wins Immunity!
Jeff
tells the others, “Tom is the only person safe at tonight’s Tribal council, Ian,
Caryn, Jenn and Katie, one of you is going home tonight.”
Part
III
[10 minutes]
Part 1V [Written by: mrspopcornsupriz ] Day 36 Tom: Talks about how important it was for him to win immunity then ever, he got
lucky. There might be a woman alliance. Ian could be gone. If he is gone, it’s 3
against him, if he doesn’t win immunity, he’d be gone next.
Katie and Ian were talking, crying. Katie wants Caryn out but she is hurt buy
Ian not picking her. Ian admits he made a mistake and he’s stupid. Ian says
maybe all bets are off now. Katie says she isn’t making anymore promises to
anyone. Ian says then this is his test and Katie agrees.
Caryn talks about how after tonight it’s a one in four chance to win. People are
screaming and are conniving to win. She thinks Katie is holding all the cards on
deciding who to send home. It could be Ian or Herself and Jen. If Katie isn’t
genuine, Jen and Caryn may have made a mistake.
Tribal Council The jury walks in: Coby, Janu, Steph, and Greg.
Jeff starts talking about the reward challenge. Brings up Ian picking Tom. Katie
talks about how he made a promise to her and he broke it with Tom. She doesn’t
know what to believe now. Ian says it was his biggest mistake because he hurt
someone he really loves. He feels bad. Katie is the closest person there to him.
Jeff asks if Ian is worried it might cost him. Ian answers, yes, sure. Jeff
talks to Caryn about it not being too bad, seeing others in a tiff. Caryn said
after Greg, Jen, and Katie went off on there reward earlier in the week, Ian
said they’d be plotting against them and if they don’t one of them off, they
will have the game. Caryn says Ian said if she goes with him and Tom, she’s in.
Caryn says he promised both her and Katie the same thing. Caryn says she has had
it up to here. The jury needs to hear what’s going on because they decide who
wins in the end. Jeff says to Ian, lots of fingers are pointing at you. Ian says
Greg needed to go and that he never thought of voting off Katie or Jen. Caryn
says Bologna. Tom then talks about how Caryn told him they were voting him off.
Caryn calls Tom a liar and says she promised to tell him if his name ever came
up. Toms wants to finish his story and says he was told Greg’s target was him
and Caryn. Jeff asks why Katie didn’t know about voting off Gregg till just
before they left to tribal council. Ian says what’s the difference between a few
hours or a few minutes. Katie says that it was like he was telling her what to
do instead of letting her decide.
Vote Starts. Ian is up first. He writes down Caryn and says this is the best few
seconds of the day, can’t wait to see you go home. Jenn votes. Caryn writes
Ian’s name down. Tom votes. Katie votes. Time to tally the votes. First vote
Ian. Second vote: Caryn. Third vote: Caryn. Fourth vote: Caryn. The fourteenth
person votes off is Caryn. The tribe has spoken. It’s time for you (Caryn) to
go. Jeff says it’s down to the final four, only three more tribal councils, two
immunity challenges, and only one winner. Can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
In the end everyone except Caryn voted Caryn off. Caryn says Sorry to be the
bearer of bad news but all that stuff happened. If you want to shoot the
messenger, go ahead. See were it gets you. Everyone is very deceptive and they
are going to have to face the music.

#12 "We'll Make You Pay" |
|
Part 1 [Written by: Jem ] Koror Day 31
It's morning at camp Koror, we see everyone just waking up. It’s very windy and
doesn’t look like its going to be a very nice day. They are all discussing the
night before, how sad Steph looked and her face when she was voted off. Someone
says “Poor Girl.”
In an interview later, Tom tells us, “Steph was the one voted off. I thought
that it could have been me last night. I wouldn’t have blamed them. If I was
playing me, I’d want me outta here too. But they didn’t do it, it was a relief.
They’re holding true to the five, and I believe they will continue to do that.”
Caryn and Tom head out to get tree mail. Caryn is feeling very vulnerable right
now. She tried to feel Tom out to see where she stands. She has a feeling that
unless something changes, she’ll be going home tonight. Tom tells us, “She knows
that she is outside of a group of five people.” We hear Caryn tell Tom, “It
would make more sense to get rid of Gregg.”
Once they have their little chat, they head back to camp with the tree mail. It
reads,
Care for a bit of R and R
To be pampered would be nice
To get the VIP treatment
Some Island knowledge is the price
You’ll soon know who your friends are
In love and war all is fair
But there can only be one winner
The one that keeps their name up in the air. |
Everyone cheers with excitement. They all really want to win reward.
Reward Challenge Jeff ushers them all in to where they are playing. He tells them, “I’m going to
ask a series of questions about Palau and Micronesia, every time you answer
correctly, you each get the right to drop another member’s torch toward the
water. After three drops on anyone’s flame, it goes into the water and that
person is out of the challenge. The last person left, wins reward. Wanna know
what you’re playing for?” All six say, “YEAH!” and as they do, we hear, HONK
HONK! It’s a luxury yacht, the winner gets to spend the night, feasting, shower
and massage. Jeff then ushers them to the mat to begin.
First Question they are all correct, so in the order they are standing on the
mat, they get a turn at pulling the lever to drop a torch, Tom takes out Gregg,
Jenn takes Caryn, Ian takes Caryn, Caryn takes out Katie and Katie retaliates by
taking out Caryn (looks like she enjoyed it too). Caryn is out and takes a seat.
Second question, Tom is the only one that gets it right. He takes out Ian. (He
said to even it up a little).
Third question, All are correct again. Tom gets Jenn, Jenn gets Tom back, Ian
gets Tom. Gregg takes out Ian and Katie takes out Ian (Gregg makes a deal with
Katie to not take him out). Both Tom and Ian are out of the challenge and take a
seat with Caryn.
Fourth question, Gregg and Katie get it right. Gregg takes out Katie (before he
does, he asks Jenn for permission to take Jenn out, he made a deal with Katie
and Jenn tells him if he does he will never live it down. (What a dumb ass! He
asks permission in front of everyone, if that doesn’t show an alliance I don’t
what does!)
Question five, Jenn and Gregg get it right, Jenn takes Katie’s last shot left
and takes her out of the competition. Gregg takes Jenn out, we hear Tom say, “At
least you didn’t ask for permission that time Gregg.” Katie takes a seat and its
now Just Jenn and Gregg playing.
Question six, Gregg’s the only one that gets the answer correct, he takes Jenn
out and he is the last one with a flame. Gregg wins this challenge.
Jess then instructs him to pick another member to go with him. Jenn is all happy
and knows she will pick her. Jeff then pipes up and tells Gregg, “What’s the use
of just two, three friends to share this with would be so much better.” He tells
everyone how sorry he is, but he made a promise to Katie and picks her. Everyone
else looks stunned. [Idiot!] Gregg says to Caryn, Ian and Tom, “Guys I’m sorry,
I’ll pay you back.” Tom bites back, “Oh No, we’ll pay you back.”
Part
I
[10 minutes]
Part 2 [Written by: XandraSkye ]
KOROR. Tom is glad he didn't come on Survivor to spend a night on a
yacht. For him it's just the icing on the cake and he "came for the cake". Ian
wants to talk strategy right away. At the reward challenge Ian saw Katie drop
his flame in the water rather than Gregg's and he found that interesting. He
said, "If Katie is willing to sell me out for a night on a yacht, there's no way
she's gonna hold on to me for a $1,000,000." Ian tells Tom that he sees it as
him and Tom have lost control of the game and are no longer calling the shots
but Gregg and Jen are because they now have Katie.
Tom tells us that Caryn did warn him that Katie was looking to get rid of him
but he wasn't willing to take Caryn's word over Katie's at that point. But now
Ian is saying that Katie has become "Shady Lady Katie" [hehehe... I love that]
and wants to dump them and go to finals with Gregg and Jen. So the three come up
with the idea of voting out Gregg at the next tribal council because they see
him as the greatest threat. They call him the "dark horse" because no one will
go against him in the final two. Caryn says, "Nobody" and Tom asks, "Why?" Caryn
says, "He hasn't pissed anyone off...he's very affable and he works hard."
Caryn tells us, "the sequence of events have fallen into place that really
benefit me" because the alliance of five is breaking down and her only hope now
is stay close to Tom and Ian.
Palau Aggressor II. Captain Mike greets Gregg, Jenn and Katie and tells them it
will be a day of pampering, VIP style. They get to their room, with real beds,
and find their swimsuits which they haven't seen since they left for the island.
They all wash up and go up on deck to get full body massages. Gregg says, "It
felt like, finally, I was on vacation at Palau."
 Gregg
is receiving a relaxing massage from an attractive local woman but then a man,
who we do not know, asks to take over. He continues to massage his feet and then
works his way up to a hard smack on the ass [I've never gotten a massage before,
is that normal?]. That's when we find out the masseuse is not masseuse at all
but Gregg's best friend, Greg, from back home.
The
four of them sit down to a yummy meal and we see two more people come up onto
the deck. It ends up being Jenn's sister, Kim and Katie's brother-in-law, Stan.
Needless to say, they are all very excited and emotional.
Back at camp Tom and Ian talk some more about voting out Gregg at the next
Tribal Council. Tom asks Ian again if he's sure Katie is really ready to go
against Tom, and Ian assures him she is. They talk about how if Tom, Caryn and
Ian all vote for Gregg it will most likely be a tie and they might be forced to
do the "Pull a Purple Rock " game, which we have not seen done since Survivor:
Marquises. But Tom and Ian agree that it is worth the gamble because like Tom
says, "we're not getting there anyway." Ian realizes that it is a risk and they
might be going home, but they hope Katie will not want to do the "rock" thing
and decide to also vote out Gregg. Ian tells us it's a "delicate operation that
needs to be handled with the utmost of care" and compares it to trying to take
"A bag of potato chips from a fat man...you can do it but you better do it quick
or he'll turn around and sit on you." They tell Caryn to pull this off she has
to keep acting the way she's been acting, "sad and dour". Caryn ensures us that
that will be no problem for her because she's a very good actress.
Now
comes my favorite part of the episode. Gregg, Jen, Katie and their family are on
a boat to a lagoon and they aren't sure what they are about to do. Then they see
fins...fins that belong to DOLPHINS!
They are gonna go swimming with dolphins! Jenn mirrors what I'm thinking by
saying, in a voice full or awe and excitement, "OH MY GOD, No way! No way!"
Katie tells us, "Swimming with the dolphins was, by far, the most magical moment
I've ever had. It's something I've always wanted to do. It's like my dream."
Jenn gets choked up [and so I do] that she got to share such a surreal
experience with her sister.
Now we go back to strategy talk. Gregg thinks it will benefit them to be the
final three. Katie says she's is the only one doing something sneaky because
she's jumping from her alliance with Tom and Ian to an alliance with Gregg and
Jen. She then tells us what her strategy is, "stick with those people that make
the decisions, until those people no longer have any power and then jump to the
next person who makes the decisions." They discuss that if Caryn should be the
one (lucky enough) to win Immunity then Tom should be who they vote for because
he's the biggest threat. Gregg thinks that their agreement felt real and true
and that their bond will be tight to the end. [Sucker!]
Next morning a boat delivers Gregg, Jenn and Katie back to the beach and their
loved ones are with them. Tom is crushed that he didn't get to see his family
and says, "It's tough." We have a few more emotional moments with the Survivor's
and their families and then it's time to say "good-bye". Tom says, "This might
of been the last love fest at camp." He says, "It has been a good run but it's
about to get rough." Part
II
[11 minutes]
Part 3 [Written by: cappy ] Immunity Challenge: Jeff makes a
comment about there being six left. Jeff takes back the immunity necklace from
Ian. The challenge is composed of previous challenges. The rope course from
episode 1's immunity challenge. The second part is the sea star puzzle of
episode 7's immunity challenge. The third part is to open a crate and raise a
flag, seen in episode 6's immunity challenge. Part four is eating three balut from
episode 8's reward challenge. The last part is a shoot out from episode 6's
reward challenge. The last one to finish is eliminated.
The Challenge Begins. The first part is the rope course. Tom, Gregg and
Ian do well. Jenn is catching up in 4th place. Katie and Caryn are falling
behind in 5th and 6th place. Tom finishes first, Gregg second, Ian third, Jenn
fourth, and Katie fifth leaving Caryn eliminated. The second part is the sea
star puzzle. They take of the covering and begin. Ian is first finished,
followed by Gregg, and Tom. Its down to Katie and Jenn. Jenn finishes before
Katie and Katie is eliminated.
They move on to the third stage of the challenge,
eating balut. The last four reveal the balut and start eating. Tom and Ian
finish. Its down to Gregg and Jenn. Jenn finishes before Gregg and Gregg is the
third eliminated. Ian, Jenn and Tom move on to the crate and flag. Ian makes
quick work of the knots using his teeth. Tom and Ian open their crates at the
same time while Jenn is falling behind on the knots. Tom and Ian clip their blue
and green flags on and move on to the final round. Jenn is eliminated.
The last
part, is the shoot out. Ian makes the first move, and he hits a blue flag. Tom
tries but misses. Ian makes another shot. Tom hits a flag but doesn't break it,
and it doesn't count. Ian makes his last shot and wins his second individual
immunity challenge. Caryn, Gregg, Jenn, Katie or Tom will be the next to go. The
final six head back to camp.
Part
III
[8 minutes]
Part 4 [Written by: nawlinsgal] We have quite the conversation
going on with Tom and Ian and it's all about Gregg, wonder if his ears are
burning (they should be on fire), Tom and Ian decide that their best course of
action would be to include Caryn with them and vote Gregg out, that would cause
a tie with Gregg and Caryn since Gregg, Jenn, and Katie are planning on voting
for Caryn.
They discuss that with a tie the two people that are involved in the tie, in
this case Caryn and Gregg would become safe and the voters would then have to
pick a stone out of a bag and the person to pick the purple stone would go home,
unless they can talk to Katie and convince her that it would be to her advantage
to vote with them to get rid of Gregg rather than take a chance on picking the
wrong stone and getting eliminated. Tom makes a bold statement saying " it's
better to play hard and chance getting eliminated, than to let this go on, I
want to do it tonight" Tom and Ian both seem content with the fact that this
move could possibly put them out of the game.
Gregg is looking around the camp and states " I was a bit concerned being away
from the camp, but coming back there is no mysterious looks back and forth
between people and I can say with confidence that Caryn is going home tonight."
Ian looks over at Caryn moping around sitting by the camp doing nothing and
decides that she should be winning an Academy Award for her performance. Gregg
comes up and they make small talk about the vote and how they think it will be
an uneventful night, all agree.
Gregg and Jenn are off talking and Gregg says that next one (meaning tribal
council) is going to be the big one, Jenn totally agrees and says that they will
have to get rid of Tom or Ian, she laughingly says that yeah majority rules.
[Wonder if she will have that same smirk later. lol]
Ian and Katie go off to talk and Ian tells Katie that he has told two people he
would have their back, Tom is one and she is the other, he even tells her that
he told Stan, her brother-in-law that he would have her back. He goes on to tell
her about the plan to vote out Gregg with Tom and Caryn, and that unless she
votes Gregg also it will force a tie. You can see that Katie is none to happy
and asks what happens with a tie, Ian explains and Katie says she really has
issues with voting Gregg out, she tells Ian it's unfair to come to her an hour
before tribal council and tell her what they are doing without discussing
anything. She tells Ian that he wants her to be in the final two with her
because she wouldn't be able to beat him or Tom because the jury would favor
them. Ian tells her it would be much closer than you think, she shoots him a
look that would cut down a mighty oak. Katie is not pleased at all and she has
some thinking to do because she said it all comes down to how do I win the
million dollars.
Everyone is sitting down for tribal and Jeff welcomes the jury Toby, Janu, and
Stephanie. Jeff starts out about the reward challenge and how it was to be away
from the camp for the night and how it might of been uncomfortable to be away
not knowing what is going on at the camp while you are gone. Gregg says it was a
great experience but on the flip side it really hurt that I had to leave behind
3 members.
Jeff asks Caryn her status with the tribe and Caryn says that they all think she
has won enough food already and didn't deserve any more, Jeff keeps pushing the
issue saying it must be more than a food issue. He points out about Gregg asking
Jenn for permission during the reward challenge. Jeff also mentions that Caryn
has all her belongings with her, Caryn points out that she wasn't' part of the
five person alliance and it's probably her time to go.
Jeff asks if Jenn and Gregg are worried about being singled out because of their
"couple status", Jenn says of course we worry a bit, but we are playing a
completely individual game [I was just waiting for Jeff to pipe up again about
Gregg getting permission from Jenn, but he didn't]
Jeff moves on to Tom who states that they have been together from day one and
being friends, but at night when they go to bed they are looking to slit
throats.
Jeff asks Ian if he wants to keep his immunity necklace and without any
hesitation at all Ian says he will keep it.
Time
to vote: Order of the vote is
Tom-------Votes for Gregg
Jenn-------Votes for Caryn
Ian--------Votes for Gregg
Gregg-----Votes for Caryn
Caryn-----Votes for Gregg
Katie------Votes for Gregg
Jeff tallys the votes and Gregg becomes the 13th member voted out and the 4th
member of the jury. Wow Jenn looks really nervous. Jeff says that the
message is clear, six days left and no one is safe.
Greggs outgoing speech:
"WowI was surprised. Hats off, they got me, they got me real good. This has been
an experience of a lifetime. Jenn best of luck and look forward to hanging out
soon."

#11 "I'll Show You How Threatening I Am" |
|
Part 1 [Written by: Trewa ] Night 27: They get back from Tribal
Council and the tribe reassures Steph that she would have stayed even if Janu
didn't quit. Tom makes a remark about his immunity becoming a moot point and he
offers it, and actually puts it around Steph neck. Later on Gregg and Ian
discuss whether Janu's decision will come back to haunt them or not.
Gregg: thinks they made a mistake in not voting her off the first tribal counsel after she
joined them. He says the longer she stays around the more Koror falls apart.
Day 28: As Steph is cutting up coconut for breakfast she is asking Katie if the
four strong is gone, meaning the original four from day two. Katie first asks
which four and then says she thinks so after last night. Steph then asks who is
running the show Gregg or Ian? Katie says she doesn't know, not her.
Steph: says Katie acts like she is her friend and then won't tell her anything.
Just keeps saying I don't know, I don't know, and won't tell her anything.
Tom tells her the four is still strong as far as he is concerned and that he
swears he is trying to look out for her, but can't expose himself and that he is
looking for an opening, a chink.
 |
|
Tom demonstrates "the dead man's float."
Is it an omen of things to come? |
Tom: Thinks "there is a reason why Steph has survived in this game as long as
she has. She's got great instincts" and he really sees her as one of the supreme
players in the game. And he realizes that she is going to start working on
things so she can survive and he thinks that is problem and that the safest
thing for all of them is for Steph to go. He also thinks that he is in the same
position as her and that they will come after him.
Tom talks to them about not penalizing him for being strong player. Later when
he is out in the water Katie, Ian, Jenn and Gregg basically make fun of his
plea.
Katie: discusses how this would be the time for her to switch over if she was
going to.
We then see Katie, Jenn and Steph talking about an all girl final four. Jenn
says she would consider doing it to Gregg. Steph says they "need to discuss it
with Caryn", but that "it would be an awesome idea." They say they already out
number the men and talk about how Tom should be they first to go if he doesn't
get Immunity. Steph is working her angle that no matter how strong she is, the
men are a bigger threat than she is.

Part 2 [ Written by: Jem ] Koror Day 28 Katie shouts to the rest
of the tribe on her way back from getting tree mail.
The reward you all play for today.
Mostly Involves eating and drinking.
The only way to the good stuff.
Will involve strategic thinking.
|
In an interview, Tom tells us, “Our tree mail came today, in what looks like a
purse or money folder, and we really think today might be the day where they
give you X amount of money, and we get to spend it on mostly food and drink. To
me mostly means that there may be some other things, I think I need a little
food for the soul, and a letter from home would serve that purpose.”
Reward Challenge
We see the tribe making their way to the challenge. Jeff tells them to take a
seat on the benches where their name is marked. Next to them is a purse
containing $500 US dollars. The currency for Palau. Some of them smell the
money, and some count it. Other just spend time feeling it. Jeff says, “You can
leave her with it, or spend it at the Survivor Auction. Im going to bring up a
series of items, Bidding will start at $20.00 and go up in $20.00 increments.
The auction will stop without warning, so if you see something you like, you
better bid and not hope for something better to come later. Survivors ready?”
He brings out the first item, of course, it’s covered! They all start bidding
back and forth. In the end Jenn wins. She pays Jeff and he uncovers a Sundae. He
hands her a spoon, waits for her to take the first bite. She is so happy. She
takes it back to her seat, her hands are trembling as she eats.
Second item bidding starts, in the end Caryn and Steph split the price with a
total of $260.00. When they go and collect he gives them the option of choosing
another item that is bigger. Both Caryn and Steph smell both items and decide to
upgrade. Jeff shows us the item they didn’t keep. Its crackers and cheese! The
second item, it’s a cheese burger, fries and a cola. They cut it and take the
first bit saying Cheers. ( It looks old to me but I guess when you’ve been out
there that long any food looks good!)
Third item up for grabs, the bidding starts and we end up with Ian winning it
for $300.00 ( Gregg chips in $20.00 for a bite) Ian is then asked if he wants to
swap the items. He is shown a box, after a few seconds he declines. Jeff then
shows him what he passed up. It’s a container of crabs, [wow, didn’t know CBS
gave out that kinda thing! LOL]. Ian goes to get his item. Jeff uncovers a plate
of spaghetti, garlic bread and Parmesan cheese. Ian reaches over and hugs Jeff.
Jeff says, “WOW Ian, you smell! Man! You reek!” As Ian takes a bite and heads
back to the bench, Gregg’s eyes never leave the plate.
Forth item is a beer. The first person to pay $40.00 gets it. It’s Ian again. He
gets up and opens it, and tells tom “Man! This is good tom.”
Item number five.... You guessed it, Letters from home. The bidding is going up
and most of them decline and apologize to their families as the last bid by Tom
is made. $220.00 is the final bid for some Love and wisdom from home, He opens
his letter [yes and here is where I get all soppy!]. He has a drawing form his
child, with their hand traced. All the girls say awww.
The other members get a change to buy theirs for the same price as Tom. Katie,
Caryn, Gregg, Steph and Katie all get theirs. As Steph sits down, and takes a
peek, the camera focuses on her. As the tears well up in my eyes, along with
hers she says, “I can’t read it now, I’ll lose it.” It appears she has a huge
stack of letters to read.
Now that the auction has finished, Jeff tells them to all head back to camp.
Part
II
[9 minutes]
Part 3 [Written by: Nawlinsgal ] Stephanie is overjoyed by her
letter from home, she has letters from her boyfriend, mom, sisters, she said she
has like 12 letters total. She said that her family is a very strong group of
people and that's how she gets her positive motivation, and the letters just
want to make her try harder, she refers to them as the food and energy she needs
to win. Stephanie states "I will win this, I know it."
Ian is finally taking a bath, he states it's in honor of Jeff Probst who noted
that he " Stunk very bad. " Ian asks Gregg for some help washing his back
because he is having problems getting it clean, Gregg goes and helps Ian out.
The girls are giggling about the guys helping each other with washing. Katie
states " they could of just asked one of the girls, instead of washing each
other, it's pretty comical. "(I see nothing wrong, why call one of the girls
into the water when Gregg is right there). Ian knows they are making fun of them
and states that it's like a Grecian bath, he goes on further to say he is
comfortable with his sexuality. Tom comes in and Ian asks him if his neck is
clean and if he looks clean, Tom states " I won't clean it for you, but you look
nice and clean." Tom definitely wanted no part of the boys Grecian bath.
Tom decides to have a talk with Caryn, he feels that he is okay for now, but his
confidence is slipping. Caryn tells Tom that she won't bite the hand that feeds
her so to say and states that they will look out for each other. Tom is
satisfied that Caryn will look out for him. Tom goes on to say that if he
doesn't win immunity he really expects to see his name written down a few times.
Everyone gathers for the Immunity challenge. First order of business as usual,
Jeff collects the immunity necklace from Tom and announces that immunity is back
up for grabs.
The immunity challenge will be tossing coconuts at a 35 tile grid with 5 tiles
for each survivor at a distance of 20 feet, the object is to break all of your 5
tiles first, you can break them or if someone else accidentally breaks your tile
for you, well then good for you and bad for them.
Ian was up first and aiming
for his red tile, which he succeeded in hitting. Caryn's up next, going for the brown
tile, missed.
Gregg was looking to hit a blue tile.
Jeff: "Gregg takes out his
first time.
Gregg on the board with one." Jenn was up next, going for orange,
and instead she takes out Caryn's white tile. Tom was up next, going for green,
and instead he takes out Katie.
Jeff: "Stephanie with her
first shot going for yellow.
And instead she takes out Caryn." Caryn is in the lead
with two taken out by Jenn and
Steph.
Ian, Gregg and Kate each have one.
Tom and Stephanie not yet on
the board.
Ian back up, looking for red.
And he does it.
Ian now with two.
Katie going for brown.
Katie takes out Jenn.
Gregg helped
Ian move into the lead
with three.
By the end of the fourth round, Tom and Ian were tied.
Tom, aiming for a green tile, misses and connects with the last red
tile which is Ian's.
Ian wins immunity.
Part

[10 minutes]
Part 4 [Written by: XandraSkye ] Day 30 at Koror
and it's a rainy day. Everyone is staying inside the shelter and Tom says,
"I think it will be very funny if the sun breaks out and you just see 7 people
scatter out of the tent into individual groups just go and explode with the
things that are building up inside them while we're stuck inside...it's gonna be
a fun day." And oh boy, was he ever right. First we see Katie and Caryn go look
for snails and Katie feels Caryn out by asking her if she would rather "stick
with the women and take out the men or go with the men and take the rest of them
kicking our ass in a big way?"
They talk about Tom and their alliance with him. Katie says she loves Tom and
will cry when she has to write his name down on a piece of paper but she has
accepted the fact that there will be a time when she has to write his name down
or he'll win. Katie is probably right.
Caryn tells us that she doesn't really have an "alliance" but she will look out
for Tom and Tom will look out for her. Once again it amazes me that people can
be so naive when we are on Survivor 10. It's all about alliances, Caryn! Even
Tom is a little confused at her decision to tell him about what her and Katie
talked about. But Katie sums it up best by saying, "We can't get a female
alliance together because Caryn sucks."
Next Tom and Ian go off together and compare notes. Than Ian and Katie go off
together and Ian tells Katie that he would like to see Caryn go before Tom.
Katie tells him, "I'd just hate for it to be such a sweep and Tom takes the
whole thing and none of us have a chance." [I'm screaming at my TV, "Listen to
her, Ian!"
Gregg wants Stephanie to go because that was the "plan". He said he would be
very pissed if they don't stick to that. But I think it is Stephanie who says
the truest statement, "If these people are smart and they know how to play the
game, for themselves, their best bet is to not get rid of me tonight...if
they're smart, Tom will be the next one to go."
Now it's time for Tribal council. Jeff starts his usual grilling by
asking Ian if at day 30 paranoia has started to drift into camp? Ian gives a
very diplomatic answer and says they are still a "pretty solid group." He then
asks Stephanie what it was like going back to camp after the last Tribal
Council. She said everyone made her feel comfortable and "whatever happens
tonight, happens."
Jeff points out to Tom how he has shown himself to be the leader of Koror and
has pretty much dominated in most of the challenges. He asked if that was
intentional. Tom tells Jeff that at first he didn't want to stand out and
planned on playing on the fact that he was a little older but then it became
"paramount" for Koror to beat Ulong so he had to take the lead and he's not
sorry and will live with those consequences.
Jeff asks Ian if he wants to give his Immunity to anyone else and Ian wisely
decides to keep it.
It's now time to vote. Caryn votes first. Jeff then goes and tally the
votes.
1st vote is for Caryn. The next four votes are for Stephanie which means
Stephanie is the 12th person voted out of Survivor: Palau and the 3rd person on
the jury.
Jeff, "Stephanie, the tribe has spoken, time for you to go." Stephanie's parting
words to the tribe that kicked her butt is, "Good luck, guys."
The episode ends by Jeff telling Koror that tonight was another easy vote
because they voted out the last remaining Ulong member but "this happy family is
about to be broken up." Part

#10 "Exile Island" |
|
[Morty Note: If something can go wrong, it can wait 'til
Thursday. This week there are problems with the video quality, even the
pictures look bad this week. Luckily you've got four diligent writers that paint
those missing pictures with their words. ]
Part 1 [Written by: Jem ]
Koror Day 25 The morning after. Ugh! first thing we see are flies
and a really messy camp! [These people are pigs.] Then we see Janu fiddling with
her bag making funny faces at Katie and Jenn in the water doing their washing
(and gossiping). Looks like Jenn is cleaning a g-string. Caryn is carving
another notch in the camp tree to mark the days. Janu tells us in her interview,
"Last night Coby was voted off, and I was taken by surprise. I had NO words, I
couldn't even say goodbye to him. I just felt this HUGE loss. I was SO taken
back, I felt betrayed. Nobody had informed me of anything."
We go to Katie and Jenn still in the water, gossiping about Janu's reaction to
Coby being voted out. Katie makes a comment that Janu looked like a Jack in the
Box. She says, "I'm sorry, are we in summer camp now? This is a game!" Katie
tells us later, "Janu is completely mad. She's crazy! Just a crazy person. All
tribal council, she was sitting like a Jack in the Box with this really creepy
smile and eyes on her face." [Yes, she said it that way, I had to rewind a few
times.]
Caryn says, "Katie started, she was gossiping about Janu. She was saying, Oh
Janu is giving looks, Janu is making faces and Janu overheard." (Makes for great
viewing.) Janu confronts Katie about talking behind her back. "What are we, in
junior high now? Why don't you tell me to my face" she says to Katie. Katie
says, "I'm sorry, you were being creepy!" Everyone else is tying to find
somewhere else to look or be. Jenn is making herself busy at the table. Steph is
looking from one to the other then back to the ground. Gregg is standing beside
Janu scratching his beard. Ian is looking around and not sure what to do. Tom is
nowhere to be seen. [Reminds me of those really uncomfortable situations we get
into sometimes.]
Gregg tells us, "Janu is turning into something, and we just have to like, put
up with her. She's kinda a buzz kill to have around. But what are you going to
do? I'm not going to vote someone out because I don't like them. I can get over
it. She plays a bigger role where as Stephanie only threatens it. Some may think
she deserves to be around. But in the grand scheme of things, winning is hardly
about deserving. I don't care if someone deserves or not. It's if you have a
role. You deserve to help me win a million dollars."
Reward
The survivors are hustled to a beach. They have scaffolding. Jeff explains
how the challenge works. They will split into two random teams of four. The
teams will swim out with one piece of scaffolding at a time and erect all 6
pieces until it's high enough to reach the flag. Once they have the flag, the
team that makes it back to the mat on the beach first wins reward. They are
playing for a Palau feast, they will be taken by boat to meet a Palauan chief
and the will be treated to a feast consisting of food, beer and dessert.
The teams are: 1. Stephanie, Ian, Katie and Jenn. 2. Tom, Janu, Caryn and Gregg.
As they start the challenge, the teams are head to head. Half way through the
challenge Janu and Katie are very tired. As usual Steph and Tom are full of
gusto. (I thought I was smart asking for this section! I find this to be a
challenge myself to type about.) The end result is that Tom, Janu, Caryn and
Gregg get their scaffolding erected first, Janu climbs up to the final platform
and retrieves the flag. The whole team swims back to the beach and win the
reward challenge. (YAY for them.)
Poor Steph isn't impressed. Can this woman ever get a break and be on a winning
team? Jeff tells the other team, "Great effort, I've got nothing
for you, head back to camp." Part
I
[11 minutes]
Part 2 [Written by: mrspopcornsupriz ] Tom talks about how he hasn’t seen
anything but wilderness in Palau. This was a great chance to meet the people, to
be respected and return the respect.
Caryn says she’s never been in the presence of a Chief. He gave her a head
piece made with flowers, and blessed her. She was moved.
Greg thinks it was nice to get outside the island. To experience what life in
Palau is really like.
Janu talks about how they all sat down at this little table
low to the ground with pillows to sit on. The Palau natives brought them the
food, she called them epicedium delights.
Caryn said they didn’t talk strategy at all; they left the
game at the door.
Half way through the meal Janu felt sick and had to excuse
herself to vomit. Greg was disappointed. There are four other people that would
really enjoy the meal but Janu couldn’t handle it.
The four of them return to camp. The others where eating.
Greg announced that they brought Ian, Steph, Jennifer, and Katie some leftovers.
There were little pieces of chicken and little donut rolls. They were very
thankful. Janu reached out and took some of the food that they had brought back
for the others because she didn’t get a chance to try it.
Katie talks about how Janu had puked her guts out and then
ate the dessert brought back for them. Caryn did it too. But they couldn’t say
anything cause they were the ones that brought it back for them.

Part 3 [Written by: cappy ] Immunity Challenge
| Tree Mail:
|
Feeling claustrophobic?
Are you prone to worry?
Panic in this and you
could be,
the next to join the jury. |
Koror comes in and Tom gives back immunity. Jeff explains that immunity is back
up for grabs. One addition, the first one to opt out of the challenge will be
sent to a deserted island for a day with only a machete, flint, water and basic
fishing gear. The concept of the challenge is really simple. The survivors have
to stay under a steel cage underwater and stay there as long as possible. The
last one under the cage wins immunity.
Everybody takes a spot. At the beginning, everybody is joking around. After 6
minutes, Janu is out because of being cold. She will be exiled. Katie is
relieved that its not here being exiled. At 32 minutes, the water rises and
Caryn opts out of the challenge. Jenn goes underwater. Katie goes underwater and
then quits. Steph now goes underwater. Ian goes underwater. Jenn is out soon
followed by Steph and Ian comes back up. Its just down to Gregg, Ian and Tom.
Gregg grips the bars but opts out of the challenge. Moments later, Ian quits and
Tom wins his 2nd individual immunity challenge.
After the challenge, Jeff gives Tom the immunity necklace and Janu gathers her
survival gear and heads off to her new home for the next day.
Part
III
[9 minutes]
Part 4 [Written by: tabitha ]Janu looks excited as she approaches her
island get away, riding in style rather than working, or should I say watching
Koror work to row her ashore. Her first order of business is to get a fire
burning. She tells us she doesn’t think she’ll get as scared if she has fire and
says it’s difficult to make fire! (Call the press!!) She says she feels she
needed to get away from Koror, because it’s them against her, and she feels very
much alone and doesn’t get along with anyone anyway. She says that yesterday she
really wanted to go, but you never know what tomorrow can bring. Even with flint
and machete, she works until dark before finally getting a blaze. We see her
eerily elated, dancing on the beach in the moonlight and claiming the moon,
stars, the night and the fire.. (I think she smuggled out some of those smelly
‘shrooms on that ‘trip’ away.)
Koror Day 27
Tom and Gregg are discussing who will be going at tribal counsel. Tom says,
“The girls are swaying toward Janu.” Gregg feels that is an emotional response
and not wise to do since Steph is a huge threat, and Janu is not. Tom asks Ian
and Gregg, “What constitutes keeping Janu over Steph?” Gregg (the nerve!) tells
Tom that he feels Steph is a story unfolding. Gregg tells us Steph’s saga:
“Steph conquers Ulong, Steph comes in and conquers Koror…” Gregg presses Tom
hard and sways him to go against his agreement with Steph to keep her on the 'in's
with him, Ian and Katie. Tom agrees to vote with Gregg, Ian, Jen and Katie to
vote out Steph. Tom says to us, “It looks like Steph is going home tonight. It’s
not where my heart is. But anything can happen.”
Janu is greeted by her tribe after being boated back to camp. They ask her how
it was, she said, “Great!” She tells them it took about two and a half hours to
make fire. Steph said, “You look better.” Janu tells them it was great to be on
her own, to be away from “here” and had time to be alone. She tells us she
didn’t want to come back to camp. When she got there, she didn’t like the ones
wearing two faces.
Stephanie tells us that everyone had agreed that it was Janu going at tribal
cousel tonight, since that was what she wanted, but she thought it was going to
be her! She asked Ian if it was still Janu, and he said yes. When she said, “I
don’t think so. I think it’s me.” Ian froze up solid! Of course this made
Stephanie very nervous. It seemed to Steph that no one wanted to talk about it.
Tribal Council
Koror files in and take their seats before the fire. Coby walks in proudly,
looking great, and tan!
Jeff: Janu, let’s talk about your night alone. You were abandoned, on a separate
island, with meager supplies… How’d you do?
Janu: I did great. I finally got the fire going and then did a little dance, I
was so excited!
Jeff: That had to be big accomplishment for you.
Janu: It was a very big accomplishment, and I tried to put myself asleep and in
the morning it was a whole new day. It was great.
Jeff: As you left in your boat, everybody waved and said, “Good luck.” Did you
buy it?
Janu: Honestly, Jeff it was um,… No. I’m sure that half of it was sincere, but
the other half was, as they call it, the game. As I came home today, it just
felt really strange, it felt like I didn’t belong.
Jeff: Caryn, you look like you’re counting to ten over there.
Caryn: I’m just shocked. You know, if that’s the way she chooses to take it.
That’s in Janu’s head.
Jeff: Tom, at this point in the game, is it worth vs. threat? Who deserves to
stay in this game vs. Who can’t I beat?
Tom: Yeah, well it’s all gamesmanship now. Nobody’s voting based on who they
like or who makes me laugh. The game is on and people are basing their votes on
how it positions them in the game. Eliminating competition is a part of this
game.
Jeff: Gregg, same question.
Gregg: It’s not a question of worthiness, and I think threat, everyone that
wants to win a million dollars here is a threat to me. You definitely want
someone in the game who’s not going to really try than someone who’s going to
give five million percent. Some plans have been established, some people may be
threats within those plans. Unfortunately, Survivor isn’t always about fairness
and who deserves what.
Jeff: Katie, why keep you?
Katie: Why keep me? (Jeff: Yeah.) Well, I don’t pose any threat at this point.
Especially, as far as challenges go.
Jeff: Janu, why keep you?
Janu: (Five second pause and shakes head) No reason. They can get rid of me.
Jeff: There’s no reason they should keep you?
Janu: No, I have to be honest. I’ve had a really rocky road. So, if I was them,
God I’d be sick of myself already.
Jeff: You almost seem like you want to go home.
Janu: It doesn’t matter, Jeff, whatever happens, happens. I’m completely
satisfied.
Jeff: Is there a part of you that wants to say, “Vote me out.”?
Janu: Yes! Absolutely. But I don’t know what they’ll do.
Jeff: Ian, why keep someone who’s saying, “I want out of this game, I’m not
going back to camp.”
Ian: Well, if you feel like you don’t want to continue in this game, if you feel
like you want to set you torch down, then you have the power and the ability to
lay down your torch and do that at anytime. There’s nobody keeping you here.
Jeff: Stephanie. If looks could kill, Janu would be on the ground.
Steph: It’s nothing against Janu, it just kills me. Someone who… could care less
if they’re even here. And here I am, like, I’d kill to be here. (Tears, shaking
voice…stay strong Steph!)
Janu: But what you need to understand is I already received what I needed to
receive out of this…
Steph: Yeah, and you’re fine with it… you could care less if you leave right
now…
Janu: Yes. That’s correct.
Steph: I care. I’m not done playing this game. Someone asks me to vote them out,
see ya, because you don’t deserve to be here.
Jeff: (To Steph) So, you feel you are in the hot seat tonight?
Steph: I know I am. (Loses it. Aww) It kills me that someone that wants to go
home that bad that, these people will keep around, just because, I don’t know
why, I guess I showed too much heart and too much will.
Jeff: Tom, in your profession, unity, camaraderie, big part of it. When you hear
somebody like that, laying it out and you have someone next to them saying,
“Please, get rid of me”, is there a dilemma for you?
Tom: There is a dilemma. Stephanie would fit into 108 truck in a moment and
everyone would love to work with her. It’s not work and it’s not camaraderie,
it’s Survivor. So, there’s a huge difference here.
Jeff: If you had your way, what would happen tonight?
Janu: I would ask the tribe to vote me out and keep Stephanie in.
Jeff: What’s the difference between you laying your torch down and you looking
at this group and saying, “Vote me out.”?
Janu: I guess after reflecting and understanding this there would be no
difference, so I would be willing to lay down my torch, so that Stephanie can
stay in the game.
Steph: Not just for me. If she wants to lay down her torch and quit this game
she can do it, but not on my account.
Janu: Do you want me to rephrase it? What I am saying is, I will lay down my
torch and I don’t want Stephanie to feel that I am doing it for her. That’s
something that I have to do.
Jeff: I just want to be clear. You are, on your own, quitting this game.
Janu: Yes, Jeff, I will lay down my torch this evening.
Jeff:
Well, I don’t know if it’s appropriate, we have rain coming down, maybe this is
your final epiphany or cleansing moment. I see that you brought all your
belongings, go ahead and gather them and bring your torch over. Janu, per your
wishes, this game is over for you, but you will not go home, you will return and
be a part of our jury.
Janu: Thank you, Jeff.
Jeff: Good night. Another strange turn of events at Tribal Council. Steph you’ve
hung in there a long time, overcome a lot of odds. You’ve escaped another one
tonight. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you. Grab your torches and
head back to camp. Good night.
