| September 14, 2006 Episode #1: "I Can Forgive Her But I Don't Have to Because She Screwed With My Chickens" |
The 13th edition of the reality series strands 20 people on the Cook Islands in the Pacific to vie for the $1 million grand prize. Initially, the castaways are divided into four ethnically diverse groups (African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic and white).
The white tribe is called Raro, Puka tribe is Asian, Aitu are Hispanic, and the Hiki tribe is black. From a social aspect, the players seemed to like being divided into ethnic groups as they felt they'd be with others they had something in common with. There is actually a lot of diversity within the groups. The black tribe may be at a disadvantage, in that all of the tribe members come from an urban background. During the start of the show, Jonathan of the Raro tribe took a chicken that belonged to the Puka tribe.
The immunity challenge involved putting together a puzzle boat (really cool, they put the pieces together in the water, and it forms a functional boat), then from there they put together two more puzzles. Puka came in first and won a fire making kit with kindling, matches and kerosene. Aitu came in second and Raro third, they won flint and steel. The Hiki tribe came in last. The losing tribe got to select a person from another tribe to spend two nights on exile island. Because Jonathan took the other tribes chicken, Hiki felt Jonathan deserved the trip to exile island.
| September 21, 2006 Episode #2: "Dire Straights and Dead Weight" |
Jonathan searched on exile island for the immunity idol without any luck. The Hiki tribe started their fire and can now boil water. At the Puka tribe, things were looking good. They made a trap out of their supply box and caught two chickens and Cao Boi has cured another headache with his ancient healing techniques. Jonathan returned to Raro to find his tribemates did nothing to improve the camp in his absence. At Aitu, Billy's conserving his energy and letting his tribemates pick up the slack. Billy's lack of help has the others considering throwing this week's challenge so they can vote him off.
In the immunity challenge, Jeff read a story about Captain Cook, the contest involved remembering facts in the story to solve a puzzle and cross an obstacle course. Each tribe was provided a book with the story, they could read the story again if they were not sure they could remember it, only Aitu stopped to read the book. Puka came in tied for first with Rara they will win two more tarps, Hiki came in third, these three tribes are immune, Aitu will be sending someone home. Yul from the Puka tribe was sent to exile isle where with the help of an additional clue, he found the personal immunity idol.
At tribal council Billy said it didn't matter if they voted him off, he already got his reward, he found true love in Candice from the other tribe. Jeff and Billy's tribemates were surprised at this revelation. Billy said their eyes met and she mouthed the words "I love you." during a challenge. Billy was voted off.
| September 28, 2006 Episode #3: "Flirting and Frustration" |
Yul returns from Exile Island and Jeff tells them to drop their buffs, the tribes will now integrate. Jeff has all the men line up on side, and the women on the other. They selected tiles to determine the tribe captains, who will select their new tribe members. Women select women, men select men, to form four new tribes of men and women, then by random selection, a male tribe merges with female tribe, to form two tribes of mixed races and sexes,
The New tribes are:
Aitu: Becky, Candice, Cao Boi, Cecilia, Jessica, Jonathan, Ozzy, Sundra, Yul
Raro: Adam, Brad, Cristina, JP, Jenny, Nathan, Parvati, Rebecca, Stephanie
At Aitu, they wanted to ask Candice about Billy saying they 're in love. Candice said that after he lost the challenge, she said she mouthed the words, "We love you" and she was surprised it was misunderstood. Yul trusted Becky and told her he found the immunity idol on Exile Island.
Nate goes out fishing and comes back with a large octopus wrapped around him.
In today's challenge each tribe will begin clipped together by a rope. In addition, each person was carrying a 15 pound sandbag on their back. They started on opposite sides of the course and raced through knee deep water attempting to catch the other tribe. When a person gets tired it's okay to opt out of the challenge but first they have to give the 5 pound sandbag to another tribe member who is now carrying twice as much weight. First tribe to catch the other tribe and tackle one of their tribe members to the ground wins immunity. Is safe at least one more day. Losers, tribal council tonight, somebody going home. There is one more element to this challenge, the details are in a note Jeff has. Raro wins immunity. The reveals that the winning team selects a member of the loosing team to send to Exile Island, they picked Candice.
| October 5, 2006 Episode #4: "Ruling the Roost" |
On tonight's episode of Survivor, Ozzy's frustrated that members of his tribe voted for his expulsion, "If they want to vote me out they should do it soon so I don't have to keep catching food for them." Candice returns from Exile Island and her tribemates ask if the other tribe was giving her a "Get out of jail free" card, because by sending her to Exile Island, she was immune from tribal council, Candice lied and said she hadn't thought of that. The reward challenge was another obstacle course/puzzle contest. The prize was two blankets, two pillows, and a hammock. Raro started with a good lead, but in the end Aitu was victorious. Aitu also won the right to send a member of Raro to Exile island, they picked Adam.
Back at Aitu, Ozzy's been fishing again, and out of 11 caught, Oz hooked 9 of them. Cao Boi goes looking for bird eggs and knocks down a nest with no eggs, but a baby chick. Jonathan and Cao Boi felt really bad for taking the baby away from it's mother and returned the nest and baby bird to the tree.
In the immunity challenge: Four tribe members will race to assemble a stretcher, it's a puzzle, that forms a functional stretcher. They will then run through the jungle with the stretcher until they reach the beach, where they will find another tribe member shackled at the top of a mast. One tribe member will make the long swim out, climb up a rope ladder, release their tribe member. Both will then swim back to the beach holding on to a life ring. You will place the rescued tribe mate on the stretcher, run back to the start where the three remaining tribe members must now build a rescue fire. First tribe to build a fire big enough to burn through their rope, drop the tribe flag wins immunity, guaranteed at least one more day in this game. Losers: Tribal council. Cristina sat out for Raro. It was a close race until Ozzy got near the water and took the lead for Aitu. When it came time to build the fire, Cao Boi got the sparks and kindling going while Raro struggled and Jenny cut her finger. Aitu won.
Back at Raro, Stephanie tells her tribe she's the weakest link and is responsible for their lose. The girls bond and Stephanie has a change of heart, the unite in the cause to vote off J.P., united except for Parvati who doubts the wisdom of the plan. The girls try to enlist Brad as the deciding vote.
At tribal council, J.P. knows he's in trouble. From the votes shown, the girls stuck to their plan and the guys voted against Stephanie. J.P. was voted out.

| October 12, 2006 Episode #5: "Don't Cry Over Spilled Octopus" |
On tonight's episode of Survivor: At Raro, it's the guys turn to notice the girls are sleeping late, the guys step it up by collecting fish and firewood, but their new ambition is a ploy to show the women how much they're needed, and the girls know it, and like it.
On Aitu, Cao Boi points out that three of their women, Sundra, Candice and Becky, are not pulling their weight.
Tree mail arrives and it's time for today's reward challenge. "You will compete two by two, how will you take the strain. A chance at more food and a whole lot more flavor for the tribe with the last hair to remain."
Each tribe will select three pairs of players. Each pair will stand on a platform with each person using one arm to hold on to a hook. Every two minutes members of the opposing tribe will load up one of those pairs with five pounds weights. The more weight they add, the harder it will become to hold. Last pair left standing wins for their tribe reward. The reward: More fishing supplies, spices and bottles of wine. In addition, the winning tribe will choose one member from the losing tribe to go to Exile island.
The pairs were, for Aitu, Jonathan and Yul, Sundra and Candice, Ozzy and Jessica. For Raro it's Nate and Adam, Rebeca and Stephannie, Cristina and Brad. Loaders for Aitu: Cao Boi and Becky and for Raro: Parvati and Jenny. Aitu decided to take out Adam and Nate by piling on all the weight. Raro on the other hand is distributing it evenly among all three pairs. Yul drops his first, Rebeca drops her weight , followed by Stephannie now out. Sundra drops her bag. Everything now rests on Ozzy and Jessica for Aitu, Brad and Cristina with 20 pounds. The only place to go for Aitu, Jessica and Ozzy. Jessica droped out next and Raro wins reward. Despite Aitu's strategy of taking out Adam and Nate, the duo withstood the weight and won reward for Raro.
Back at Raro, Cristina planning on how they'll prepare an octopus brought in by Brad. When she takes the octopus to the water to wash it, the cut-up pieces float away from her. She calls for help, and blames the lost food on a lack of help. Meanwhile, Cao Boi, Ozzy and Jessica go exploring a neighboring island, and find themselves at Raro's campsite. They took some fruit called noni because it's a good, antiseptic and they have some cuts. They visited a while and returned to their island. Jonathan looked for the idol, but felt someone beat him to it.
In the immunity challenge, they have to assemble stepping poles. When they use those poles to transfer two tribe members from one large platform to another platform. All eight tribe members will then swim out to one final, very small tower. First tribe to get all eight tribe members to the top of the tower with both feet on or above the top deck wins immune at this time. Losers, tribal council, somebody going home. Aitu wins!
At the Raro camp, Stephanie off-handedly says she could go for some mashed potatoes and gravy, the remark makes it's rounds, and the guys take it to mean that Stephanie is ready to go home, but when confronted, she says that she wants to stay. At tribal council, Cristina was labeled as "bossy," she said she didn't know that, and will try to correct her flaw. The votes were split between Cristina with Stephanie getting enought to be voted off the island.
| October 19, 2006 Episode #6: "Plan Voodoo" |
On tonight's episode of Survivor: At Raro, Cristina was offended by being call "pushy" during tribal council. At Aitu, Jonathan and Ozzy are fishing, and Jonathan notes that Ozzy is an amazing player, a threat, that he wouldn't want around when the tribes merge.
Tree Mail: "This head-to-head match needs a well-balanced team. To win your first feast, you have to kick and you will scream."
Jeff: " Today's challenge is physical. Here is how it works. Each tribe will select three people. Each of those three will be stationed at their own posts. On my 'go,' two members of the other tribe will race out and attempt to physically remove you from your post and drag you through the sand to their finish line. Once they have accomplished that, two other tribe members will race out and attempt to do it with the second person. First tribe to get all three of the opposing tribe members across their finish line, wins the challenge. Do you want to know what your playing for? Good news; bad news. Good news is that the winners will feast on thick lamb shanks, bread, apple cider. Bad news is, you will be feasting at tribal council, because, win or lose, both tribes are going to tribal council tonight. Both tribes will vote somebody out. Here is how it will work. The winning tribe will go to tribal council first. You will have your tribal council and vote somebody out. You will then move to the jury section and you will feast while listening in on the losing tribe's tribal council. So not only do you get food, you get knowledge of what is going on in the other tribe." Aitu Won!
Cao Boi tells Yul that he wants to force a three-way tie in the votes to see if Jonathan has the idol. Of course it's Yul that has the idol, not Jonathan. Meanwhile Jonathan wants Cao Boi out, and Yul's starting to wonder about Jonathan, because everyone else distrusts Jonathan.
At the first tribal council (Aitu): Cao Boi tries his "Plan Voodoo" but, his plan fails when he's voted out with four votes. The remaining players will get to feast and evesdrop on Raro's tribal council.
At the second tribal council (Raro): Before the voting, there was another twist: Aitu got to kidnap one member from the Raro tribe. The person Aitu picks will be immune from tonight's tribal council. They will come over to Aitu's side, sit with them, and have a plate of food. They will return to camp with them and they will be a part of the tribe through the next reward challenge. Aitu picked Nate. Christina was voted off in a 4 to 3 vote, Jenny got the other three votes.

October 26, 2006 Episode #6-B: "A Closer Look"" |
A recap of the first half of the season includes previously unseen footage of Candice and Adam getting stranded on a sandbar in a boat due to a storm. Also: Stephannie gets drunk following a reward challenge; Jonathan, Adam and Candice search in vain for the immunity idol. Jeff Probst is the host. Because of this being a clip show, we won't be posting any additional information for this episode.
|
November 2, 2006 Episode #7: "Why Aren't You Swimming!?" |
Survivor Catalog: Both tribes browse through Tree Mail's Survivor Catalog, picking two items that, if they win the Reward Challenge, they could acquire for their tribe. The ever-democratic Aitu laughs and makes a game of the catalog as they agree on peanut butter and potatoes, while the stubborn Raro is divided between the instant gratification of bread versus the practicality of potatoes.
Reward Challenge: Smash and Grab As the tribes assemble for their challenge, Jeff Probst describes the rules of the game. Each tribe will select three swimmers and two puzzle makers. The first swimmer will grab a club, swim to a platform, climb to the top and leap off. While in midair, they will smash a plaster box releasing a key, retrieve that key and swim back to shore. After retrieving six keys, the two puzzle makers will use those keys to unlock a chest filled with puzzle pieces. First tribe to solve the puzzle wins the Reward.
The challenge begins as Ozzy from Aitu sets the tone of the challenge, smashing his box and retrieving his key, while Rebecca from Raro, drained of all strength, struggles to retrieve her key and returns to the Raro mat empty handed, tagging out for the remainder of the challenge. Nate, still a member of Aitu through the Reward Challenge, is benched by the Aitu team and watches in horror as Rebecca collapses and the fate of the Raro team falls solely upon the swimming abilities of Adam and Parvati. Exhausted, Adam and Parvati push onward but to no avail.
Dominating the challenge, Aitu wins the much anticipated peanut butter and potatoes, choosing to send Adam to Exile Island.
Immunity Challenge: Stairway to Heaven The tribes, prepared to face off once again, assemble at the Immunity Challenge where Jeff describes the rules of the game. Each tribe will race to arrange a series of logs, building a staircase to the top of a tower. Once the entire tribe is on the tower, three tribe members will sail down a zip line into the water, retrieve a bag of puzzle pieces and swim back. Once all three are back, they must climb a rope ladder to the top of the tower where the three remaining tribe members will solve the puzzle. First tribe to solve the puzzle wins Immunity and is safe from Tribal Council.
Aitu quickly takes the lead at the start of the challenge, building their staircase and climbing to the top of the tower as Raro flounders with the poles to make the staircase. Aitu sends Yul, Candice, and Ozzy down the zip line to retrieve the puzzle bags while Raro reaches the top of the tower and begins their decent down the zip line. Raro closes the gap and, with the tribes neck and neck, it is a race to solve the puzzle. Raro's Jenny, Rebecca and Adam work together flawlessly, coming from behind to complete the puzzle. Their losing streak is over and they finally win the coveted Immunity Idol.
Tribal Council: Aitu wavers over whom to vote out. In an attempt to make sure his neck isn't on the chopping block, Jonathan targets Flica, suggesting to the tribe they may need Ozzy's strength for a bit longer up to the merge. "I'm trying to choose my battles carefully," states a cautious Jonathan. "I'm trying to stay one-step ahead of the competition. I may trip, ‘cause I'm running too far ahead." Flica, feeling the heat of the upcoming vote, begins a campaign of her own to oust Jonathan. With all the scrambling in camp, Yul considers the fate of his tribe. "Jonathan for some reason seems to inspire some level of mistrust among everybody. People don't fully trust him. And for me, I haven't seen it, but because everyone else is suspicious of him it can't help but rub off on me a little bit." In the end, Flica's paranoia and lack of game playing skills do her in as her tribe ends the tension she created in camp, voting her out six votes to one.

| November 9, 2006 Episode #8: "Mutiny" |
As it gets closer to the merge, tribe members are looking at their alliances, members and who should be voted opff. Just before the reward challenge, Jeff makes this offer: "Before we get to today's reward challenge, we're going to do something a little different. I'm offering each of you the opportunity to mutiny and join the other tribe." Taking Jeff up on the offer: Candice and Jonathan. [Surprised me].
Reward Challenge: Two from each tribe will get inside a barrel. and the rest of the tribe will push them through a series of obstacles. Along the way, they'll collect a total of four buoys which they'll then use to float two people in the barrel across the lagoon. When they reach the center of the lagoon, dive down and retrieve four flags. On the other side of the lagoon, they'll take those four flags and attach them to a flag pole. Next, the entire tribe will then dig down, uncover an axe, use that axe to chop a rope, that will raise your flags. The first tribe to raise their flags wins reward. The winning tribe will go to a nice, relaxing environment. There will be coffee, some muffins, and Danishes. And because it's always nice to have something to read with your morning cup of coffee, there will have letters from home.
In the barrel for Aitu, it is Becky and Sundra. For Raro, Jenny and Candice. Aitu held a lead they established early in the game, and in the end were victorious. They picked Candice to go to Exile Island , and Jon discovered that Raro wasn't waiting for him with open arms. Meanwhile, the four members of Aitu are now closer than ever and enjoying their reward.
For Immunity: For today's challenge, they paddled out into the lagoon in glass-bottom boats searching for three underwater targets. Then, they must line up a target in the crosshairs in the bottom of the boat. They'll release a cannonball, which will drop from the boat, hitting a target, releasing a pair of buoys. When they have all the buoys they'll return to the shore, use the buoys to solve a word puzzle. One buoy provides a clue. The rest of the buoys will form the one-word answer. For a brief moment Raro was in the lead, but it was Aitu that won this challenge too.
At Raro, Nathan thinks this is a good time to vote off Brad while Jonathan is working real hard to make sure they don't vote him out. Brad's been told Jon's going. After all the votes were counted, Brad was voted off and became the first jury member.
| November 16, 2006 Episode #9: "People That You Like Want to See You Suffer" |
Jonathan continues gathering food trying to endear himself to Raro, he now regrets his impulsive decision to switch tribes. Meanwhile, Candace is happier and continuing her showmance with Adam.
At Aitu, they've received tree mail, a nautical alphabet chart. At the reward challenge, the task is to dig up buried treasure chests that contain tiles with the ships flags. Once they get all the chests and flag-tiles, they must use them to spell "Victory." Aitu maintained an early lead to win their third challenge in a row. Aitu sent Candace back to exile island, and got to go to a feast prepared by the natives of the islands. Their hosts danced and partied with them.
The Immunity Challenge: The tribes got a map of the islands of the Pacific. They must take turns swimming out to a pontoon, dive down and unclip a bundle of island names and swim back to shore. Then the next person goes. Once all four tribe members are back, you will move to an answer table where they must correctly identify 10 islands by matching the islands with the island names they collected. First tribe to answer correctly, will go back to camp with the immunity idol, losers go to tribal council. They won't go empty-handed-- The losing tribe will take back to camp with them a small bottle. Inside it is a note. It must remain sealed. The note contains significant information. They will bring it with them to tribal council and open the bottle after they have voted. Aitu wins again!
Tribal Council: Jury-member, Brad returns to observe. The tribe admits that it's nice having Jonathan provide for them. They vote and Jeff counts: 1 vote Jonathan, 4 votes Rebecca. Next, the bottle is opened. "You just voted out one member of your tribe, now vote out another." One the second vote: Jenny was voted out.
| November
23, 2006 Episode #11: "Why
Would You Trust Me?" |
At Raro, Jonathan does the fishing. He returns to find
his tribemates still haven't got the fire going and are just lounging about. Jonathan
feels his tribemates are slackers.
At Aitu Yul isn't feeling his best. When the two tribes meet at the challenge, Aitu is surprised that Raro lost two members at Tribal
Council. Jeff tells them it's merge time. Because there are no rats and lots of coconuts, they'll be camping at Raro. Along with the merge comes food and wine. As Adam puked, Jonathan was amazed that contestants going after a million
dollar prize would risk their best game to get drunk.
The new tribe name is: Aitutonga. There's lot of new alliances and
re-aligning, lots of reasons to watch the video.
Immunity Challenge: Today's challenge is very simple
-- each of them is
going to hang on to a pole for
as long as they can.
When they fall off the pole, they're out of the challenge.
The last person left hanging on
their pole wins immunity, and is
safe at tonight's tribal council
only one rule: They cannot use
the top of the pole to support themselves. They use a ladder to get on a
pole that has a couple foot notches and some rope turnings. Adam is the first one out.
Nate struggles, but it's Jonathan that falls next, then Nate and Sundra.
After 51 minutes, Yul quits and it starts to rain. Parvati, then
Becky. The final two are Ozzy and Parvati-- Ozzy Wins!
Most tribe-members want to vote out Yul. Yul tells Jonathan he has the
idol.
Tribal Council: In a four-five vote, Nate was voted off the
island.
|
November 30, 2006 "You're a Rat" |
There were really strong reactions to Jonathan's jump back,
you'll have to watch the video to see the anger his move evoked in some players.
Survivor Auction: It's auction day. Everyone got $500
in $20 bills. Jonathan buys a hot dog and beer for $100, while Parvati
buys a hot bubble bath and a slice of chocolate cake for $340. For $640
(she borrowed some money) Becky buys a secret power, and it turns out it's the
power to immediately send someone to exile island, she sends Candice. After the
auction, people are a little annoyed at Jonathan's arrogance and the Yul / Becky
alliance starts to re-think their plans for final four.
The Immunity Challenge:
They were quizzed on how well they remembered
the events of the last 30 days.
They read four
questions.
This them the answers in
the form of numbers. They then added, subtracted, or
divided the answers to come up
with a final number, then untie a
corresponding box, searching for
a key. That key will open a
lock, which will raise a flag.
The first three to raise their
flag move on to the final round.
The winner of that round wins
immunity. Parvati,
Jonathan, Adam get to move on to the second part.
The next questions: The
number of immunity challenges so far, including this one. Plus the number of survivors at
tribal council during the lamb
shank feast, divided by the
number of underwater flags
collected in the barrel rolling
competition. If they get that right, they get the key and you win
immunity.
Adam is the first to start untying. Adam wins!
Tribal Council: Adam, Parvati,
and Candice go to Yul to ask him to vote out Jonathan. Yul asks how that
will help them in the game, they don't care, they just want him out.
There's a confrontation between Jonathan and Candice, and Yul feels it would be
safest for him to vote off Jonathan, rather than go against the numbers.
The conversation got pretty nasty at council. As usual they lead us down
the wrong path, and Candice was voted out instead of Jonathan.

"Arranging a Hit" |
The three girls were wondering where Jonathan was and thinking that maybe he was trying to make amends
with Adam. At camp Parvati cut open her thumb with machete trying to open a coconut.
The
medical team arrives gave her local anesthesia and stitched her finger up.
Adam was feeling a little
groggy from seeing Parvati's finger dangling
then off.
Reward Challenge: Jeff asked Parvati what happened and if she could get
her finger wet she said yes. Loved ones are there for reward Jonathan's wife

Parvati's father. The
reward: Survivors have to get water in a little pail blind folded and

also have a little pail. They had to fill up a bigger pail till flag raises.
Jonathan and Parvati
where neck and neck, the
winner: Parvati and her dad picked Sundra's mom and Adams's dad to join
they went to a tribe where they blessed fresh water in a cave than all jumped in afterward.
They had a feast with the locals too.
Ozzy Yul and Becky hid their food from Adam, Jonathan and Parvati,
but when Adam, Sundra and Becky came back from reward, they brought lots of food
for their tribemates and they had a change of heart.
The immunity challenge was to run a floating obstacle course and
collect sections that form a pole which is used to reach a ring, collect two
rings: win immunity. Ozzy won.
Back at camp, Jonathan is getting the cold shoulder from
everyone, his tribemates tell him Adam is tonight's target.

"I Have the Advantage...for Once" |
So we're down to the final six: Sundra, Yul, Ozzy, Adam, Becky
and Parvati.
Reward Challenge: For today's reward
challenge, they have to dive
into a mud pit and cover their
bodies with as much mud as they
can, then race back and scrape it off
into a bucket. They cannot carry mud in their arms or their hands, they can only use
their body. The person with the most mud in
their bucket at the end of 10
minutes wins reward. The winner of today's
challenge will be indulging in a
luxury spa reward.
they'll have a massage, pool, and get their clothes washed. There
will be food, plenty of dessert, beer, wine, and champagne and
they'll spend the night. Ozzy wins with a completely full bucket followed
by Parvati and Yul and Adam goes to Exile Island.
Reward did look fantastic, and Parvati tried to use it as
a bonding opportunity. At camp, the girls feel Ozzy is obsessed with
winning competitions. When the three returned Becky had a talk with Yul,
and expressed her desire to vote out Ozzy as he's so good he's a threat to them.
Immunity Challenge: It was an
obstacle/puzzle race. One at a
time, they'll carry four
bundles of puzzle pieces across
the balance beams to a mat.
Once they've collected all four
bundles, they'll use those
bundles to create a table maze.
Finally, they will use the maze
to maneuver one cannonball past
decoy holes into each of the two
corner pockets.
First person to complete this
wins immunity, guaranteed a one
in five shot at winning this game. Yul took an early lead, but fell behind
when he assembled his maze wrong. Yada yada, Ozzy Wins Immunity!
There was the usual scripted misdirection so you'd be surprised at who goes
home. In the end, it was between Sundra and Parvati, with Parvati, being
evicted in a 2 - 4 vote.

"This Tribe Will Self-Destruct, in 5, 4, 3, . . . " |
Survivor season finales are always inflated with clips and special moments to
remember all the people they hated and voted off. The CBS site will post
the long version, and if you want to read the my short version of
everything that happened starts under the scoreboard.
We begin tonight's coverage with the challenges that face
the final five and the tree mail: " North, South, East, West, Every
direction is a test. Slither, run, and balance, soar. Guarantee spot
in the final four."
Immunity Challenge: Jeff: "Today's challenge you will
race around a ropes course to
eight different stations,
collecting a bag of puzzle
pieces at each station.
Each time you get a bag you have
to come back to your table
before you can go back out.
Once you have all eight bags you
will use those puzzle pieces to
construct an eight-point compass
puzzle.
Only once your puzzle is
assembled correctly will you be
able to raise your flag.
First person to raise their flag
wins immunity.
Guaranteed a spot in the final
four.
Losers, tribal council, somebody
going home. For what it's worth in thirteen seasons of Survivor this is the
most difficult puzzle we've ever
had."
Yul took the lead and in an unlikely
twist, Ozzy fell behind but made up the time he lost and was the first to start
putting his puzzle together, Sundra was in last place at this point.
Ozzy and Adam were neck and neck when Ozzy won immunity.
Tribal Council: There was no surprise,
everyone knew Adam was going home. Before the votes there were some
conversation. Adam accused Sundra and Becky of riding on Ozzy's coattails
and letting Yul run things. Yul offered his explanation for why no one when after him, "Just like to bring up one other way that people haven't
been challenged for the idol.
The reason we got here because
we've all been really tight.
There haven't been any cracks in
our alliance.
The four of us have an extremely
loyal to the conflict of moving
forward together as a tribe.
So I think that might also
explain why people haven't been
angling for it." The jury snickered as he said it.
On the day after Tribal Council they received tree mail
explaining the "Memory Walk" they'd take where they'd gather the torches of
their fallen comrades. To their surprise, the tree mail also that
following this remembrance they'd play for final immunity.
Final Immunity: Jeff: "For today's challenge you will
be standing on a small steel
perch situated in the water.
Each perch has been individually
proportioned to your foot size
so everything is equal.
Every 15 minutes you'll remove a
section of the perch making it
smaller and more difficult.
When you get down to the last
piece of the perch you will be
standing auto a section that is less than half the size of a
postcard.
Last person left standing on
their perch wins immunity,
guaranteed a spot in the final
three. The reason that is so important
is that for the first time ever
final tribal council will
include not two people but
three.
Three people will take part in
that final vote.
Three people will be eligible
for the million dollars."
Becky is the first one
out After one hour they were down to a 3" x 3" post, Yul was the next to
fall. Ozzy had several times where it looked like he would fall, but he
got his balance and stayed up. After 2.5 hours, Sundra fell and Ozzy won immunity.
Either Sundra and Becky will be voted off tonight Ozzy and Yul
don't know who to vote out, they feel the two girls are equal. They plan
to have the vote a tie, so the girls complete in a tie-breaker contest for their
place. Yul then goes to Becky and offers her his immunity idol,
Becky warns him that the others may see this as a deceitful move and cost him in
the final vote.
Tribal Council: Jeff tells them all the
possible outcomes, including the possibility that Yul might have given the
idol to someone. In the end, it was a 2 to 2 tie vote, if Becky was
given the idol, she did not use it. A tie-breaker fire making challenge
was performed. After an hour without fire they were given matches
(pitiful) and even with matches they have problems. Sundra ran out of
matches. Becky Won! The final three are Becky, Ozzy and Yul.
On the day after Tribal Council Becky tells the cameras that she
was glad she didn't take Yul up on his offer of the immunity idol. Two
island girls brought the final three a small feast of fruit and champagne.
Becky wasn't on the beach when the girls brought the platter, Yul and Ozzy felt
that was significant, and that after the poor job of firemaking at the
last tribal council, the jury would vote Oz and Yul the final two.
Tribal Council: Jeff: "Yul, opening
statement." Yul: "When I came here I wanted to
play a certain way.
I didn't want to just play an
individual game where I just got
myself to the final.
I honestly feel that I've
probably been more than anyone
else to really affect and
influence the overall course of
this game.
I was able to bring everyone in
my tribe and everyone in my
lines to the final four and
ultimately to the final three.
I don't think it's just
coincidence that I've been on
the teams and alliances that
ultimately became dominant.
I think I played a key role in
leading these teams.
I didn't lie about the fact that
I have had to manipulate
and deceive people.
But I stayed loyal to people who
are loyal to me.
So I would love to get your vote
tonight.
And I feel like I've earned my
way here.
I have played ever facet of the
game and in a way that -- I'm
proud of.
Thanks."
Becky: "You know, I came into this
game knowing that I'm not going
to be the strongest person nor
the fastest or the smartest.
And knew that I would have to
basically rely on my social
game.
And the way i can connect with
people.
I wanted to form an alliance
with people that i trusted that
I knew that if I gave my word
and they gave their word I could
count on that.
I really tried to play the
social game.
Being fair, being honest to the
best of my abilities and I'm
true to my character.
That's why I'm asking for your
vote tonight."

| The Winner of Survivor Cook Islands! |

 |
| |
Ozzy won a 2007 Mercury Mariner Hybrid worth around
$30,000
 |
Ozzy: "From the beginning of this
game I was the underdog.
My people were voted out the
first tribe.
I found myself in a position
that was really scary, but I
never let that stop me.
I said, you know, hey, I'm her
to play a game and just try as
hard as I can and do whatever I
can.
And that came down to providing,
you know.
I knew that if I didn't fish,
why if I didn't provide for
people that my ass was gone.
That was the bottom line.
I never tried to hide who I was
or what I was or how strong I
was.
I came out here and I embraced
every aspect of this game
whole-heartedly with my soul in
every single moment that I possibly could. I think that my actions and my
reputation in this game speaks louder than any words I'm going to be able to. "
During questioning, Becky told the jury she turned down
the offer of the idol last night. There were no shocking moments.
Ozzy says he wanted to represent a new Mexican image. Yul also said he
hoped the image he brought to the game would also break some stereotypes.
Jonathan was still bent out of shape and implied Yul's a liar and Ozzy acts like
a prince with an attitude of entitlement.
They voted and put the ballots in the messenger bag which Jeff
took and was opened in the studio in Television City in California. The vote was
tied 4 - 4, if the final vote was for Becky there would have been a tie,
Yul got the final vote and won: Yul 5 Ozzie 4
