Large-mouthed comic Joe E. Brown is a
milquetoast book critic who is asked by his
girlfriend to shave off his mustache. When Brown

who just got released from prison. The
resemblance brings a rash of hilarious
complications for the harried Brown. Frances
Robinson, Vivienne Osborne and Bruce Bennett

Earrings(1947) VHS
Unruly Gypsy woman Marlene Dietrich finds
romance with British officer Ray Milland, whom
she helps through the Black Forest on a mission
to stop a Nazi plan to use poison gas during
World War II. Exciting (and, now, often campy)
wartime story offers the divine Marlene decked
out in sultry Gypsy garb and dark make-up; with

The
Big Clock(1948) VHS
Striking film noir classic stars Ray Milland as
a crime magazine editor who has a liaison with a
beautiful woman who turns out to be the mistress
of his boss, tyrannical publisher Charles
Laughton. When a jealous Laughton murders the
woman, he sets out to frame the "other
man" for the crime and assigns the job of
finding him to Milland. Rita Johnson, George
Macready and Elsa Lanchester also star in this
suspenser that inspired 1987's "No Way
