HGTV will bring fans New Year’s cheer with nearly 40 fresh episodes beginning in January, including the return of hit series Home Town starring Ben and Erin Napier and Ugliest House in America featuring Retta, the premiere of the fun and unexpected home surveillance video series Neighborhood Watch, and more episodes of humorous fantasy lifestyle show Cheap A$$ Beach Houses.
To kick off 2026, Ben and Erin Napier will return in 16 new episodes of popular series Home Town (RTR Media Inc.), premiering Sunday, January 4, @ 8PM ET/PT. Attracting 23.3 million viewers across linear and streaming to their last run, the small-town sweethearts and home renovation experts will revive outdated homes and historical locations in their small town of Laurel, Mississippi. In each hourlong episode, the Napiers will take on projects for new residents and longtime friends and neighbors, while exploring new design styles and navigating their busy family life. This season, Ben and Erin makeover the maternity ward and waiting room of the local hospital, transform a house for Ben’s brother Jesse and his growing family, and remodel a home for a newly engaged couple who plans to host their wedding there. In the season opener, the Napiers will take on their largest Home Town overhaul yet to fix up one of Laurel’s most well-known abodes for the homeowner who has lived there for over five decades. The gigantic transformation, which unfolds across two episodes, will bring much-needed updates to the historic property, while preserving the house’s original features.
Then, beginning Wednesday, January 7, @ 8 and 8:30PM ET/PT, actress, comedian, and home design enthusiast Retta will continue her quest to find the country’s undiscovered ugly in fresh six episodes of mega-hit Ugliest House in America (Big Fish Entertainment). The series, which attracted 12.2 million viewers across linear and streaming last season, will capture Retta’s hilarious hot takes as she goes inside 15 more properties with shockingly bad designs, cringe-worthy layouts, and grossly outdated styles. Based on its ugly appearance, awkward factor, and most surprising feature, one house will be crowned the “ugliest house in America” by HGTV, and the network will award its owners a showstopping $150,000 renovation completed by designer Alison Victoria, one of its top stars, during a special one-hour finale episode. This season – which spotlights Retta’s hundredth hideous house tour – will kick off in the Great Plains, where she’ll explore an off-the-grid mish-mash house, a man-made metal monstrosity and a Rocky Mountain home @ 7,100 feet overtaken by unexplained light switches.
Also on Wednesday, January 7, the fun and unexpected series Neighborhood Watch (Arrow Media) will premiere @ 9:30PM ET/PT. The half-hour episodes will reveal the raw, unfiltered, and sometimes shocking footage straight from security cameras, smart doorbells, and nanny cams across America. From neighbors and postal workers to uninvited guests and animal visitors, the network will tap into the most embarrassing, hilarious, outrageous, and downright bizarre moments caught on home surveillance video.
And, more episodes of freshman fantasy lifestyle series Cheap A$$ Beach Houses (Bodega Pictures, LLC) will return on Wednesday, January 7, @ 9PM ET/PT to humorously show viewers how to own a slice of affordable paradise. Bargain buyers will chase their coastal dreams on realistic budgets, proving you don’t need to break the bank to live the beach life. In the January 7 episode, Brian, a larger-than-life real estate agent with a helicopter pilot side gig, will show his clients Chris and Katie a good time as they look for a place on the sand in Panama City Beach, Florida. With a budget below the market average, Brian will have his work cut out to find their ideal waterfront home.
